Sicilia DOC Grillo Superiore 'Senaria' 2023 (750 ml.) Pellegrino

Sicilia Grillo Superiore DOC "Senaria" 2023 by Pellegrino is a Sicilian white wine with character, made from only Grillo grapes grown in the Petrosino area, along the southwestern coast of Sicily. The proximity to the sea and the sandy soils give the wine freshness and minerality. The harvest, carried out in the first half of September, is followed by controlled temperature vinification in steel with subsequent aging on fine lees for about 4 months: a process that enhances the varietal aromas and structure of the wine. In appearance, it is straw yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose, it features notes of citrus, white flowers, and a salty touch. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, with good persistence and a citrusy finish. Perfect with seafood, fish pasta dishes, and fresh cheeses, it is a wine that expresses the authentic soul of coastal Sicily.

With over 140 years of tradition, this historic winery has evolved, combining artisan expertise with winemaking innovation to offer elegant, authentic wines that are deeply rooted in the territory.

Today Pellegrino is a reference point for great Marsala aged in wood, the passito wines from the island of Pantelleria, and a complete range of white, red, and rosé wines from native varieties such as Grillo, Zibibbo, Nero d’Avola and Frappato. Each bottle tells the richness of the Sicilian landscape: the scents of the Mediterranean, the strength of the sun, and the sea breeze that caresses the vineyards.

Discover on Vino45 the exclusive selection of Pellegrino wines: a journey through intense aromas, impeccable balances, and flavors that speak the language of the South. Color: Bright straw yellow with greenish reflections, indicative of freshness and youth. The clarity is crystalline, with good consistency that suggests a decent structure.

Bouquet: Intense and fine, with an aromatic profile centered on notes of white-fleshed fruit such as pear and apple, accompanied by citrus hints of cedar and grapefruit. Floral nuances of orange blossom emerge, along with hints of Mediterranean herbs, and a slight saline note that recalls the Sicilian coastal territory.

Taste: Dry, fresh, and savory, with a good balance between acidity and body. The progression is linear yet lively, supported by a pleasant minerality that gives the drink a lift. The finish is clean, with medium persistence, featuring a citrusy and slightly almond-like return.
