The Mitterberg 'Donà Blanc' by Hartmann Donà is a cuvée made up of 60% Pinot Bianco and 40% Chardonnay. These two varieties have been cultivated in South Tyrol for over 100 years, and here, in suitable terroirs, they manage to create wines with a particular charm. Wines with ripe fruit, a soft body, and a minerality that becomes prominent after a few years of aging. The grapes come from ancient vines and, once fully ripe, are subjected to careful and delicate pressing, and their juice is fermented in wooden barrels. The aging on the lees for 23 months in barrels and the bottle aging for 2 years give the Donà Blanc roundness and softness, allowing it to fully develop its savory and mineral character.

THE WINE
The Mitterberg 'Donà Blanc' by Hartmann Donà is a cuvée composed of 60% Pinot Bianco and 40% Chardonnay. Wines with ripe fruit, a soft body, and a minerality that stands out after a few years of aging. The grapes come from ancient vines and, once fully ripe, are subjected to careful and delicate pressing, and their juice is fermented in wooden barrels. THE COMPANY
“As far back as I can remember, my life has always been in the vineyards, among the grapes, in the cellars. First, under the suggestive image of robust vines and shady rows, the wonderful taste of sweet grapes, and the joyful celebration after the harvest. Then, the sour smell of the fermentation cellar, the first tastings under the guidance of an experienced hand. Finally, fascinated by taking care of the vines directly and creating excellent wines from fine grapes. This is my reality today. My strength lies in understanding the three factors: soil, vines, climate, interpreting them, and working with them. This is how original and unique products are born. With those slight differences from one vintage to another that characterize only the authentic products of nature”: nothing better than the words of the person involved can present us with the character. A figure, that of Hartmann Donà, to be taken as an undisputed reference in the international oenological and winemaking landscape.
Winemaker at the Terlano Winery from 1994 to 2002, it is exactly in 2000 that Hartmann Donà also began to produce wine on his own, founding the eponymous company “Hartmann Donà”, located in Cermes, in the province of Bolzano. The vineyards are cultivated on steep terrain, with soils particularly rich in minerals. These are old vines with very deep roots that produce few bunches, with small and highly aromatic berries. Work in the vineyard is still carried out in a craft manner and is focused on maximum respect for nature, the environment, the ecosystem, and biodiversity. In the cellar, the rules followed are all aimed at enhancing everything that the season and the territory have managed to shape in the fruit. This is how the wines of Hartmann Donà are extraordinary expressions of their terroir. From Pinot Bianco to Chardonnay, from Gewürztraminer to Sauvignon Blanc, passing through Lagrein and Pinot Nero: labels of great finesse, original and unique, that enchant with elegance, freshness, and personality.
