The Denomination of Controlled Origin Marsala is a liqueur and sweet wine produced in the province of Trapani under the strong Sicilian sun, with the exception, as required by the regulations, of the Municipalities of Pantelleria, Favignana and Alcamo. There are different types obtained primarily from the grapes used but also from the different processing of the grapes and the aging times which give different color, hues and aromas, in addition to the degree of sweetness. The different sweetness makes Marsala a wine suitable for different occasions and times of the day, if the sweet Marsala is certainly suitable for the moment of the dessert or at the end of the meal, the dry one is also appreciated as an aperitif or eating.
