The Sauvignon Blanc Cicinis by Attems originates in the heart of the Collio Friulano, from a 5-hectare cru cultivated on marly soils (ponca) at about 200 meters s.l.m., perfect for enhancing freshness and aromaticity. The microclimate, moderated by the sea and protected by the Julian Alps, promotes a slow and complex maturation. The grapes are harvested by hand, with a portion fermenting in 20 hl oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel, followed by 9 months of aging on the lees, with periodic bâtonnage enriching its structure and depth. In the glass, it appears straw yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose, it offers intense notes of tropical fruit, tomato leaf, sage, and flint. The palate is savory, broad, and elegant, with bright freshness and a long mineral finish. A white of great class, perfect with shellfish, asparagus, or fresh cheeses.

Attems

Nestled among the lush hills of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Attems winery represents a precious enological gem, an integral part of the prestigious Frescobaldi family. This land, kissed by the cool northern winds and the sun that caresses the vineyards, is blessed with a unique climate that enhances the soul of the cultivated grapes, making Collio and Isonzo ideal territories for the production of extraordinarily elegant white wines.
Attems has managed to make its traditional approach a strength, remaining faithful to the roots of the Friulian territory while embracing innovation. Its vineyards, tended with dedication, host grape varieties that best express the identity of this region: Pinot Grigio, with its freshness and versatility, and Sauvignon, known for its intense aromas and decisive character.
Among the flagship labels, Cicinis emerges as a symbol of refinement and complexity, a wine that tells the story of sun-kissed hills and expert hands that transform grapes into pure liquid poetry. The Pinot Grigio from Attems, on the other hand, offers a sensory experience that captures the palate with floral and fruity notes, reflecting in every sip the brightness of the Friulian territory.
Let yourself be transported by the magic of Attems wines on Vino45, and discover how tradition and innovation blend to offer an authentic expression of Collio and Isonzo, inviting you on an unforgettable journey through the flavors of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
Address:
Via Aquileia, 30 Capriva del Friuli - 34070 Capriva del Friuli (GO) Italy
Color: Bright straw yellow with greenish reflections, a sign of freshness and youth.
Bouquet: Intense and refined, with an aromatic range that spans from notes of ripe tropical fruits, such as pineapple and passion fruit, to typical vegetal hints of the grape variety, such as tomato leaf and sage, finishing with an elegant mineral breath of flint.
Taste: Shows great balance between breadth and verticality. The sip is broad, savory, and enveloping, supported by a lively freshness that gives it momentum. The finish is long, mineral, and aromatically consistent with the nose, leaving a pleasant citrus and saline sensation.

THE COMPANY

Attems: a name that evokes the history of wine in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The first document attesting to the ownership of lands suitable for viticulture in Collio by the Attems dynasty dates back to 1106, and the production of Ribolla Gialla and Refosco is recorded in the ledgers of 1764. A millennial tradition that has made this company a reference point in the area and has seen Count Douglas Attems as a protagonist: he deserves credit for founding, in 1964, the Consortium of Collio Wines, the third in chronological order in Italy and the first in Friuli.
The history of Attems thus intertwines with History: from the Patriarchate of Aquileia to the County of Gorizia, from World War I to the present day. Owned by the Frescobaldi family since 2000, Attems has a fascinating past, an established present, and a future of innovation.
Since 2000, Attems has been owned by the Frescobaldi family, which continues to lead it while respecting its unique characteristics.
