La Sibilla

In the fascinating and mysterious heart of the Phlegraean Fields, a land of dormant volcanoes and ancient myths, stands the La Sibilla winery, the guardian of a winemaking tradition that is deeply rooted in the very history of this territory. Here, in an area where the volcanic soil gives the vines a unique and unmistakable character, the Di Meo family passionately and dedicatedly cultivates the native grape varieties of the region. Falanghina and Piedirosso, the undisputed protagonists of these lands, find their ideal habitat in the volcanic-origin soils, expressing in the wines a freshness and savoriness that evoke the breath of the Mediterranean.
The production philosophy of La Sibilla is a tribute to tradition and nature, a balance between respect for the past and conscious innovation. Every bottle is the result of meticulous work and unconditional love for the territory, which is manifested in the choice to enhance local grape varieties and sustainable farming practices. This approach allows for the creation of wines that tell stories of land and sea, of wind and sun, of an authentic and generous Campania.
Among the main labels, "Cruna deLago" emerges gracefully, a wine that carries with it the very essence of the Phlegraean Fields. Its organoleptic notes speak of freshness and minerality, of floral and fruity aromas that dance together in perfect balance. It is a wine that invites you to dream, to travel in thought through the breathtaking landscapes of this enchanted land.
Let yourself be seduced by the magic of the Phlegraean Fields through the wines of La Sibilla, available on Vino45. A sensory experience that will lead you to discover the authentic and timeless beauty of a territory rich in history and unforgettable flavors.

THE WINE
The 'CRUna deLago' by La Sibilla is a pure falanghina and comes from vineyards located on volcanic soils in the heart of the DOC Campi Flegrei. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. The must ferments at controlled temperatures and matures in steel for 6 months on its own lees. A white wine with fresh and delicate aromas and an expressive taste with pleasant minerality.
THE COMPANY
The company La Sibilla is located in the province of Naples, in the heart of the Campi Flegrei and just a few steps from the Cave of the Sibilla Cumana. This winery owes its origins to the Di Meo family, particularly to one of its ancestors, who over a hundred years ago decided to move here and start cultivating vines. Today La Sibilla covers about 10 hectares of vineyards; in the vineyards, there are centenary native vines of falanghina and piedirosso, traditionally supported by chestnut poles, and they are still in full production today. The Di Meo family, custodian of a winemaking heritage passed down through generations, cultivates its vines driven by a passion for the land and its products; for two years, Vincenzo Di Meo, a traveling winemaker who currently leads the company, has also started to recover additional native grape varieties such as ‘a livella, ‘a surcella, and 'a marsigliese: the primary goal is always to produce wines with the flavor and taste of the past, making ancient traditions alongside modern technologies protagonists. The vines, grown on sandy volcanic soils and immune to phylloxera, are a true botanical museum. Divided into two main sections, the first close to the cellar and the second near the Roman villa, known as Villa di Cesare, in the WWF natural oasis, they produce excellent wines with peculiar characteristics, preserving the territory and sometimes saving it from abandonment and illegal building. Following the vocation of the territory and loving the work in the vineyard, at La Sibilla, wines with a distinct personality are obtained, to be appreciated precisely because they are never the same as each other, except in quality. Always fresh, fragrant, and wonderfully expressive, these wines are the best possible ambassadors of a territory still to be discovered where, giving rhythm to life, are only traditions, seasonality, values, and knowledge.
