Frappato Rosato: the fresher and more refined face of the Sicilian grape variety
The Frappato Rosato is the most delicate and luminous expression of one of Sicily's most fascinating native grape varieties. Vinified in rosé, this wine embodies a new dimension of lightness, freshness, and aromatic finesse, highlighting the livelier and more floral qualities of Frappato.
Originally from the province of Ragusa and primarily cultivated in the Vittoria area, Frappato finds an ideal habitat in the limestone soils and Mediterranean climate of southeastern Sicily. In its red version, it is famous for its finesse and versatility, while in its rosé version, it offers an even more relaxed and refined drinkability, perfect for accompanying any moment of the day.
To the eye, it presents a brilliant soft pink hue, elegant and inviting. The olfactory profile features aromas of wild strawberries, pomegranate, wildflowers, and a citrus touch. On the palate, Frappato Rosato is fresh, smooth, and saline, with a lively acidity that enhances its drinkability and a slender structure that maintains the grape's original elegance.
The rosé vinification involves a brief maceration on the skins, just long enough to extract color and aromas without compromising delicacy. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature, and aging in steel preserves the wine's aromatic integrity.
