'Botanical' Gin by Bareksten was inspired by the Norwegian landscape. Dense forests, where sunlight reaches the forest floor only marginally, are typical of the country. Dry Gin by By the Dutch is distilled in the Herman Jansen distillery in Schiedam, the city where the Gin originated. The botanicals used are: juniper berries, blood orange, lemon peel, dried bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, coriander. The maceration time for each botanical is about 15 days before distillation. Traditional Dutch spices and botanicals are distilled separately. The distillates are then mixed and brought to 42.5% alcohol by volume; a percentage chosen by the master distiller for a perfect balance of aroma and taste. A unique gin, which recalls the tradition of Schiedam.
