The Mosel Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett by Egon Müller originates from the vineyard of the same name, one of the most famous in Germany, likely originally planted by the Romans. Located in Wiltingen, away from the Saar in a south-facing side valley, its slopes are quite steep, with a gradient of 30–60%, and rugged, at an altitude of 180-280 meters. A delicate, fresh, and exquisite wine on the palate. Great elegance and excellent aging potential for this young vintage. Pure, fresh, and intense minerality. Floral, fruity, and mineral notes of apple, pine, and berries. Great persistence of aromas and flavors. Excellent for special occasions, important appetizers, and pairs well with fish and shellfish dishes.

THE COMPANY

The Müller family has been producing top-quality wines since 1797, ranked among the best in the Moselle and all of Germany. The company, a member of the VDP association, is led by Egon Müller and owns about 16 hectares of vineyards (98% Riesling), including 8.3 of the famous Sharzhofberg, which sits on a soil with a predominantly Nordic climate and rich in slate, unique for its longevity and elegance. For this historic company, the pursuit of quality starts in the vineyard and is based on exceptional vineyards, low yields, and the search for ideal ripeness. Egon Müller’s approach to winemaking is traditional and minimalist, aimed at enhancing the vineyard and terroir, producing world-renowned Riesling, which always has a residual sugar content, in respect of Moselle traditions.
