Perricone
Perricone: the elegant rebel of western Sicily
Among the sunlit rows stretching between Trapani and Palermo, grows a little-known grape with an explosive character: Perricone. Also known as Pignatello, this entirely Sicilian red has the charm of those who don't follow trends but wins over with its authenticity. It's not the type to make noise, but when it arrives in the glass... it certainly gets noticed!
Rustic? Yes, but with style. Perricone is that wine that tells stories of earth, wind, and sun, but it does so with a surprising bouquet: ripe plum, cherry, black pepper, Mediterranean herbs, and sometimes even a hint of licorice. On the palate, it is bold but not harsh, with well-present tannins and a sincere soul that speaks of true Sicily.
It doesn't seek the spotlight, but when you pair it with a grilled meat, a pasta dish with wild boar sauce, or a platter of aged cheeses, you realize you are in front of an exceptional wine.
On Vino45, Perricone is ready to surprise you with its rebellious and refined soul. Whether you are looking for new flavors or want to discover an undiscovered side of Sicilian winemaking, this native red will win you over, sip by sip.
