The Salina Bianco 'Praìola' by Salvatore d'Amico is a delicate white wine produced from selected Catarratto, Insolia, and Malvasia grapes, aged in Acacia barrels refilled annually with new vintages. Made from organic farming on a small plot of only 3 hectares, it is produced on the island of Salina using and processing exclusively local resources without altering their integrity. Traditional processing methods, careful and manual selection of grapes, with no added yeasts until the final product. The high quality of the products and the limited number of bottles are the cornerstones of the company. Complex aroma of ripe white fruit, warm, persistent flavor, and good balance. Unique in its kind.

Salvatore d'Amico

In the enchanted setting of the Aeolian Islands, where the sea embraces the land in an eternal dialogue, lies the winery Salvatore d'Amico, an authentic enological gem of Sicily. Here, on the island of Salina, viticulture is an ancient art that tells of centuries-old traditions and a passion that runs through the veins of its inhabitants. Salvatore d'Amico, with dedication and respect for the territory, has chosen to enhance the grapes that best express the soul of these volcanic lands: Malvasia and Corinto Nero.
The Malvasia delle Lipari, a denomination that speaks of sun, wind, and sea, finds in the d'Amico winery one of its highest expressions. The production philosophy is based on an approach that combines tradition and innovation, always with an eye on quality. The Malvasia grapes, caressed by sea breezes, are transformed into nectars that encapsulate all the sweetness and intensity of the Mediterranean. The Malvasia Passito, the flagship of the production, is a wine that seduces with its aromas of dried fruit, honey, and candied citrus, offering the palate a velvety and persistent sweetness.
Every sip of Salvatore d'Amico wines is a sensory journey through the unique scents and flavors of the Aeolian Islands, an invitation to discover the essence of a territory that never ceases to amaze. Let yourself be enveloped by the magic of Malvasia delle Lipari and discover on Vino45 the labels that tell of an authentic and timeless Sicily.

THE COMPANY
The Agricultural Company Salvatore d’Amico is one of the oldest on the Island of Salina and is a small family-run business, operating in the Municipality of Leni. The history of the company unfolds over three generations: it began with grandfather Antonino Divola, in the early 1900s, by establishing the first winery in the Valdichiesa area, and upon his death, his daughters Nunzia and Grazia continued. In 1972, daughter Nunzia and her husband, Raffaele d’Amico, renovated the current winery in Leni inside an old Eolian house and registered the vineyards as number 8 in the DOC register of Malvasia delle Lipari. In the same year, son Salvatore, a winemaker and a lover of island traditions out of passion, decided to take over the family business and in 1976, with the help of old valuable manuscripts from his grandfather and the experiences gained from his parents, produced a high-level Malvasia, reviving the activity under the new name Agro-biological Company Salvatore d’Amico. Over the years, the cultivated land area has gradually increased to three hectares. The planting of new vineyards has been particularly laborious, through the creation of terraced systems by restoring the old century-old dry stone walls, along which caper plants grow spontaneously. From the vineyards, the Company produces four true enological pearls: Malvasia delle Lipari, Tenuta Ruvoli a Salina Red, Tenuta Valdichiesa a Salina White, and Léne a Salina White.
