Soave

Soave is a white DOC wine produced in the province of Verona. Soave alone accounts for its 500,000 hectoliters for 40% of the DOC production of the province of Verona, where 14% of the Italian DOC and 60% of the Veneto DOC are concentrated. The wines produced in the Soave DOC are: Soave DOC, Soave Classico DOC, Soave Superiore DOCG, Recioto di Soave DOCG. In 1931 the first decree delimiting the area was proposed and Soave, the first of the Italian wines, was recognized as "typical and precious" wine. Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave, as we know them today, are the result of a long natural interaction between the vine and the environment to which the man has given a particular contribution in recent years. Garganega does not possess a marked aromatic quality, but a small patrimony of perfumes of which almond and white flowers are the clearest; it has a very long biological development, so much so that it matures in October; it has a hard and particularly yellow skin (almost red) when it is ripe. It does not have a preponderant acidity but rather an interesting balance of extracts and sugars. The Trebbiano di Soave historically very present in the vineyards has left more and more place to the exuberance of Garganega. Only in the last few years has it been re-proposing itself as an ideal partner to trace new enological profiles for the Soave of the future, combining its sapidity and vivacity with the structure and density typical of Garganega.

The Custoza 'Selezione Piona' by Albino Piona comes from an assembly of Garganega, Trebbiano, Tai, Cortese, Italic Riesling, Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay. All the grapes are vinified separately in order to maximize the characteristics of each one. Very fragrant with aromatic notes. Its taste is sapid, round, delicate, with a right body, dry but without harshness.

The Soave DOC 'Vintage' by Bertani is a 'Vintage Edition' 30s packaging but it is an original and modern wine: a slightly more loaded color, a fresh, crisp wine. Fine and elegant with aromatic notes of ripe fruit, peach and pear, with vegetal sensations reminiscent of sage, mint and elder flowers.

The 'San Vincenzo' by Anselmi comes from the vines grown on the volcanic soil located near the Sant Vincenzo Sanctuary. Cuvée of Garganega, the ancient native vine of the Verona area (70%), completed by Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc (30%). Expressive bouquet of citrus fruits, fruit, almonds and aromatic herbs. The sip is round, mineral, fresh, sapid and well balanced.

The 'Capitel Foscarino' by Anselmi is made in the beautiful hilly area to the east of the city of Verona, in the homonymous hill that represents one of the most suitable cru in the area of Soave. Cuvée di Garganega (90%), completed by Chardonnay (10%). White with a strong personality, which gives back to the glass all the mineral characteristics of the volcanic soils of the Foscarino cru.

The 'Capitel Croce' by Anselmi is a pure Garganega. The vines of this variety grow in a plot of about 5 hectares in the most historic area of Soave, characterized by a calcareous subsoil. Partial fermentation and aging in barriques for 6 months. Excellent wine over the years, has been awarded several times with the highest scores.
