THE COMPANY
Elena Walch is a prominent family-run winery in South Tyrol, a flagship of Italian wine production and renowned internationally. A promoter of quality and innovation, Elena Walch has helped to drive the qualitative revolution in South Tyrol, earning great local and international recognition. An architect by profession, Elena Walch married into one of the oldest wine families in the region, bringing with her new concepts of modernization to the traditional company. Today, the management of the company is entrusted to her daughters Julia and Karoline Walch, the fifth generation of the family.
The company philosophy is closely linked to its terroir: the principle is that wines should be a unique expression of their soil, climate, and the work done in the vineyard, and that the vineyard should be worked according to the principles of sustainability and thus handed down to future generations. The deep belief that the quality of wine originates in the vineyard leads to a commitment to work without compromise, respecting the individual characteristics of each vineyard. With 60 hectares under cultivation, including the two vineyards VIGNA Castel Ringberg in Caldaro and VIGNA Kastelaz in Tramin, Elena Walch is among the most important personalities in South Tyrol's wine scene.
The wines are distinguished by character, elegance, and a pronounced personality, combined with the highest level of professionalism in their production. The superb climatic conditions and the exceptional location of the estates give rise to fresh and fruity white wines, as well as concentrated and smooth red wines.
