Fiano di Avellino DOCG 'Morandi' FeudiStudi 2018 (750 ml.) - Feudi di San Gregorio

Fiano di Avellino 'Morandi' by Feudi di San Gregorio is part of the Feudi Studi line. It originates from a single vineyard, located in the municipality of Montefredane where the Fiano is able to express itself to its full potential, leading to harvest, where the operations are carried out strictly by hand. Refine for 12 months in stainless steel tanks. It has a straw yellow color with golden hues and expresses aromas of jasmine, golden apple and acacia flowers, with details of apricots and dried fruit. In the mouth it is full-bodied and broad on the palate, with a sip that strikes the palate for its excellent flavor and freshness, structured and with excellent creaminess, well balanced by freshness and flavor.

FEUDISTUDI

Campania viticulture is nothing but the result of many "little stories" made by people who have preserved the most ancient traditions, a mosaic composed of communities, valleys and hills, memories and cultures that history has consolidated over time. The wines of a land are not goods but stories of life. They express the hills from which they originated, narrate stories of men who have created them, generation after generation.

FeudiStudi wines are children of the desire to tell - with choices of winemaking and refinement without commercial compromise by Pierpaolo Sirch - the richness of our most expressive vineyards, selected each year among our 700 owned vineyards according to the characteristics of the vintage.

Every year the wines will therefore be unique pieces, limited edition products (ca. 2.000 bottles) and not destined for traditional commercial channels. We chose an exclusive bottle, re-edition of the first bordolesi of the seventeenth century, and we started with two iconic Fiano vineyards and in the following years particular vineyards of Greco and Aglianico were also identified.

THE COMPANY

The wines from the hamlet of Colterenzio were favourites of Archduke Sigismund when he resided at Firmiano Castle in the 15th century, though the area was producing fine wines much earlier. Around 15 b.C. a Roman country gentleman named Cornelius settled here and established his "Cornelianum" wine estate and the first wine culture in the area. The Roman name eventually evolved into "Cornaiano", the village Colterenzio calls home. The Colterenzio winegrowers' co-operative was founded by 28 vintners in 1960. Over the years other passionate viticulturalists from diversified micro-zones in the area joined the collective, and today nearly 300 members cultivate approximately 300 hectares of vineyards.
