The Riesling Spatlese 'Wehlener Sonnenuhr' from Prum is an elegant, full-bodied, and expressive white wine, originating from a particularly prized plot of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard in the Mosel region. The Spatlese type corresponds to a late harvest of about 1 week, allowing the grapes to concentrate aromas and sugars while maintaining the freshness of the varietal. Rich in aromas, persistent and long, it has an excellent potential for evolution and aging. It matures in stainless steel for several months before bottling. Floral scents, apple aromas, white-fleshed fruit, and spicy nuances. Vibrant attack, with ripe fruit and multifaceted, pleasant aromas. Long and persistent finish, fresh and savory. Excellent when young, it excels at full maturity after a few years in the bottle.

The story of J.J. Prüm is inextricably intertwined with the gentle hills of the Moselle, where the river winds among steep and sunny vineyards, creating an ideal microclimate for the cultivation of Riesling.
The production philosophy of J.J. Prüm embraces a traditional and environmentally respectful approach, where every cluster is meticulously cared for to enhance the essence of the territory. THE COMPANY

Johannes Joseph Prüm, known as JJ Prüm, is appreciated worldwide as one of the most superlative German wines. The Prüm family has been cultivating vines on the Mosel for 400 years in some of the most favorable lands along the entire river. Of the 22 hectares of land, all in enviable positions, a standout plot of 5 hectares, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, takes its name from the sundial that a brother of the great-great-grandfather of the current owner placed on this land in 1842. Entirely dedicated to Riesling, the vineyard of the Sundial produces the masterpieces of the estate, wines that have received scores of one hundred out of one hundred and reached prices of 1,000 dollars per bottle. Other prized vineyards include Graacher Himmelreich, Zeltinger Sonnenuhr, Bernkasteler Badstube, cultivated with great ecological awareness and predominantly manual labor tied to the prestigious tradition that has ensured many excellent results. Prüm begins harvesting when others are finishing. Fermentations in steel with natural yeasts, at very low temperatures, which can last until January. No wood is used. An unreachable elegance, the result of elective affinities between acidity, sweetness, and spicy aromas. Wines that require long aging, thereby acquiring incredible richness and depth of aromas. The wines have exceptional longevity.
