The Gewürztraminer from the prestigious 'Lafòa' line of Colterenzio is an aromatic and elegant white wine, a true excellence of the Alps. It is made from the eponymous grapes used in purity, cultivated in vineyards located at an altitude of about 450–550 meters s.l.m. Harvested and briefly cold macerated, fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, and further aged for 12 months in stainless steel on its own yeasts. The bouquet offers broad and intense aromas of exotic fruit, enriched by spicy and mineral touches. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, harmonious, with a thin and satisfying sip, characterized by a beautiful fresh imprint. One of the most interesting expressions of Gewürztraminer at the regional level. Perfect when paired with Asian dishes, raw fish, shellfish, and blue cheeses.

LINE LA FOA
Lafóa: from the pilot vineyard to the flagship wines
The name Lafóa evokes the beginning of the quality revolution in South Tyrol and the pioneering work carried out by Cantina Colterenzio in the 1980s. At that time, the pioneer Luis Raifer on the namesake vineyard did not just plant new grape varieties, but also introduced new quality standards: lower yield per grape and better quality wine. It was on this pilot vineyard that the “Lafóa idea” was born: the introduction of new quality standards that are still strictly followed today by both the winegrower members and the collaborators in the Winery. Today, Lafóa is synonymous with whites and reds of strong structure, refined and with great aging potential.
THE WINE
The Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Line 'Lafòa' by Colterenzio is the flagship of the company. An excellent white wine that comes from grapes grown on limestone soils, enriched by clay deposits. The gewürztraminer finds its ideal habitat here, expressing great freshness and typicality of the area in addition to a high aging potential.
