Grappa di Moscato Riserva 2015 by Antica Distilleria di Altavilla, a historic Piedmontese distillery specializing in the production of long-aged single-variety Piedmontese grappa, is part of the 'Riserve' line. It is produced in Castagnole Monferrato in the province of Asti, by artisan producers of six generations. Obtained from fresh pomace and distilled with steam stills, after a careful and scrupulous head and tail discard, the grappa is kept for several years in fine oak barrels and in cherry, chestnut, almond and French oak barriques. Soft, delicate, fruity and enveloping with sensations of vanilla and small fruits.

Started in 1846 by Filippo Mazzetti, the family distillation business has been handed down from father to son until today through six generations. In fact, every year the best pomace of Monferrato converge in the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla, giving rise to as many single-variety grappas. Obtained from fresh pomace and distilled with steam stills, after a careful and scrupulous rejection of heads and tails, the grappas are kept for several years in fine oak barrels and in cherry, chestnut, almond and French oak barriques; until they reach a complete harmony of taste and aroma, keeping the floral and fruity notes intact. They are the result of a production process handed down with passion and wisdom to the current owner, Filippo Mazzetti together with his wife Laura and their children Fabrizio and Alessandro.
