THE DISTILLERY

Started in 1846 by Filippo Mazzetti, the family's distilling activity has been passed down from father to son to the present day, through six generations. Every year, in the Antica Distilleria di Altavilla, the best pomace from Monferrato is transformed into just as many single-varietal grappas. Made from the freshest pomace and distilled with steam stills, after a careful and meticulous removal of heads and tails, the grappas are kept for several years in fine oak barrels and in cherry, chestnut, almond, and French oak barriques; until they achieve complete harmony of taste and aroma, maintaining intact the floral and fruity notes. They are the result of a production process handed down with passion and wisdom to the current owner, Filippo Mazzetti, along with his wife Laura and their sons Fabrizio and Alessandro.
