Grappa Invecchiata di Moscato 'Bric del Gaian' 2016 (700 ml. wooden box) Berta Distillerie

Discover the “Bric del Gaian” 2016 Aged Moscato Grappa from Berta Distillerie. Crafted from hand-picked pomace of the finest Moscato crus, it is distilled using a traditional batch steam method in copper stills to preserve the purest aromas. Eight years of aging in barrels of varied wood types and toasts impart a complex, delicate, and enveloping bouquet, and a rich, silky, warm palate with notes of vanilla, cocoa, dried fruit, and candied citrus. Its deep amber color captivates the eye; on the palate, it impresses with its finesse and long, lingering finish. Ideal as a digestif or for exclusive tastings, it pairs beautifully with dark chocolate desserts, blue cheeses, and dry pastries, elevating every bite. Experience the perfect harmony of artisanal tradition and innovation.

Berta Distilleries

In the heart of the Piedmont hills, in Casalotto di Mombaruzzo, an excellence that has rewritten the history of Italian grappa is born: Berta Distilleries. Founded in the 1950s by Paolo Berta, heir to a family of pharmacists and winemakers, the company is today led by brothers Gianfranco and Enrico, guardians of a tradition that for over seventy years has combined the art of distillation, elegance, and passion.

From the beginning, the mission was clear: not to succumb to quantity, but to pursue absolute quality. A counter-trend choice, especially in the decades of the economic boom, which has allowed Berta to establish itself as a reference point for those seeking something more in grappa: a soul, a story, a territory.

Each Berta label is the result of a meticulous process: selection of the best pomace, slow distillation in discontinuous steam alembics, long aging in fine woods. The result? Distillates of extraordinary aromatic finesse, intense yet harmonious, capable of captivating the most demanding palates. Great classics like “Elisi,” “Tre Soli Tre,” or “Paolo Berta” are not just grappas, but liquid tales of dedication and style.

Available on Vino45, Berta grappas represent the pinnacle of Italian distillation: a sensory journey through time, culture, and the identity of a unique territory.

Color: deep amber with golden highlights reflecting the lengthy maturation in wooden casks. The clarity is crystal-clear, and the texture shows noticeable viscosity, leaving gentle “tears” on the glass that hint at its full body.

Olfactory: on the nose it unfolds with enveloping aromas of acacia honey and dried apricots, followed by toasted almond and vanilla notes. The wood brings delicate hints of leather and sweet spices such as clove and cinnamon, accompanied by a faint caramel nuance. The overall bouquet is warm and complex, gradually revealing itself.

Taste: the palate greets with a soft entry, the alcoholic warmth well-rounded by the Moscato’s residual sweetness. A balance emerges between roundness—evoking candied fruit and honey—and a dry finish marked by a subtle bitter walnut note. The persistence is long, with a return of vanilla and spices inviting a second sip.
