The Grappa from Grattamacco is an elegant and characterful distillate, obtained from the fresh pomace of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese grapes used to produce the great reds of the famous Tuscan estate. Artisanally distilled using a discontinuous bain-marie method, it releases the full essence of the Bolgheri terroir, offering extraordinary expressive purity. On the nose, it opens with ethereal and clear aromas, where notes of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, almond, and light floral accents emerge. On the palate, it is soft, warm, and enveloping, with a balanced structure and a clean, persistent, and harmonious finish. Ideal for meditation or as a refined after-dinner drink, it is offered in a 500 ml bottle with a case, perfect also as a gift. THE FAMILY
The brothers Maria Iris and Claudio Tipa, who have always shared a passion for nature and great wines, have realized their dream by creating a "Domaine" in Tuscany. THE ESTATES
The agronomic management of the company follows the criteria of guaranteed and certified organic cultivation by ICEA.
Castle ColleMassari
It was founded in 1998 and is included in the DOCG Montecucco in Alta Maremma, between the DOCG of Brunello di Montalcino and Morellino di Scansano, enjoying ideal conditions for the cultivation of Sangiovese. The first vintage produced is from 2000.
The estate Castle ColleMassari It is located at the foot of Mount Amiata, facing the Tyrrhenian coast at 320 meters. s.l.m. enjoying a microclimate favored by strong ventilation and large temperature variations.
The company covers an area of 1200 hectares, of which 110 are vineyards, 60 are olive groves, 400 hectares are arable land, and the remaining part consists of woods. Additionally, the estate is surrounded by public woods covering approximately 1200 hectares.
The sloping hillside vineyards with average slopes of 15% are trained to spur cordon and double Guyot with an average yield of 60 quintals per hectare. During the harvest, great care is taken in the selection of the grapes, which are first selected on a vibrating sorting table and then placed on a second sorting table with a conveyor belt for further manual selection of the berries.
Grattamacco
It was born in the late 1970s and is included in the DOC Bolgheri quickly captures the market's interest as this new cradle of Cabernet Sauvignon in Italy. The first vintage produced is from 1982, the result of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese and Merlot.
Grattamacco It was born in 1977, located on the top of a hill overlooking the sea between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri, 100 meters away. s.l.m., in an area particularly suited for the production of great red wines.
Its location allows it to enjoy a dry, mild climate, with significant temperature variations, especially at the end of summer.
The company covers an area of 50 hectares, of which 25 are planted with vineyards and 5 with olive groves.
The remaining area is covered by forests, bordering a vast wooded area of about 1600 hectares.
The sloping hill vineyards with average slopes of 8% are trained to spurred cordon, Guyot, and bush vine systems, with an average yield of 60-70 quintals per hectare. The average age of the vines is about 25 years.
Poggio under
It was founded in 1989 and is universally regarded as one of the true classics of Brunello di Montalcino. DOCG. It is certainly one of the most famous and critically acclaimed companies in Italian and foreign wine, not only for the Brunello but also for its Rosso di Montalcino. DOC. The first thousand produced is from 1991.
The Farm Poggio Di Sotto was founded in 1989 on the southeast slope of the Montalcino hill, which has always been considered one of the best areas for the production of Sangiovese.
The company covers an area of 44 hectares, of which 16 are planted with vineyards, all registered in the Brunello di Montalcino register, while the remaining area consists of olive groves (1,400 trees) and woodland.
The vineyards stretch along a slope that gradually rises from 200 meters to 400 meters.
Protected by Monte Amiata on one side and open to sea breezes on the other, caressed by the banks of the Orcia River, the property enjoys a unique microclimate benefiting from significant temperature variations even in the height of summer.
The sloping hilly lands, with an average incline of 10%, are all cultivated with a spurred cordon system, yielding 30-35 quintals per hectare due to a very strict selection of the grapes.
During the maturation phase, only the best bunches are left on the plant. An additional selection in the vineyard takes place at the time of harvest.
