THE WINE

The wine is blended and transferred into small oak barrels, destined to mature for 14 months before a further 12 months of aging in the bottle. Cornell represents the excellence branded Colterenzio, wines produced from grapes sourced from the best vineyards that, thanks to care, passion, and aging in barrique, transform into extremely complex and long-lived tastings.
THE COMPANY
The Archduke Sigismund, residing at Castel Firmiano in the 15th century, was not the first to appreciate the good wine of Colterenzio. In fact, as early as around 15 B.C., the Roman colonist Cornelius recognized the extraordinary fertility of this land and decided to settle here, thus laying the foundations for the current winemaking vocation of Colterenzio. His estate "Cornelianum," which gave its name to the village of Cornaiano, stood on a hill not far away. The ancient tradition was renewed in 1960 when 28 winemakers founded the Colterenzio Winery. Over the years, others joined them, and today Colterenzio counts almost 300 passionate winegrower members who contribute grapes from approximately 300 hectares of vineyards they own.
