The Pinot Noir from the prestigious 'Lafòa' line of Colterenzio is a full-bodied and elegant red wine, a true excellence of the Alps. It is made from the homonymous grapes used in purity, cultivated in vineyards from three different plots located at 400 meters above sea level on morainic soils. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in wooden barrels for 3 weeks at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation in wood, and aging for 12 months in new barriques and second and third passage barriques. The bouquet features notes of small red fruits, berries, orange peel, red flowers, and hints of toasting and spices. On the palate, it presents a linear, refined, and structured texture, with dense and delicate tannins. It pairs perfectly with red meats, stews, roasts, hearty pasta dishes, aged cheeses, and white meats.

A name that embodies the strength and passion of a unique cooperative, capable of bringing together local winemakers under the banner of quality and respect for the land. Here, among the vineyards climbing the slopes of the Alps, the wines come to life, telling stories of tradition and innovation.
Colterenzio stands out in the Alto Adige wine scene for its ability to enhance the climatic and varietal peculiarities of the area, producing wines that faithfully reflect the identity of the territory. The winery places particular emphasis on native and international grapes, such as the refined Gewürztraminer, the vibrant Sauvignon, and the elegant Pinot Noir, each cultivated with meticulous attention to detail.
Among the most celebrated labels, the Pinot Noir and the Sauvignon stand out, two wines that perfectly embody the spirit of Colterenzio. The Pinot Noir is distinguished by its refined structure and aromatic bouquet ranging from berries to delicate spicy notes, while the Sauvignon surprises with its intense aromas of citrus and white flowers, accompanied by exceptional freshness on the palate.

LINEA LA FOA
Lafóa: from the pilot vineyard to flagship wines
The name Lafóa evokes the beginning of the quality revolution in South Tyrol and the pioneering work carried out by Cantina Colterenzio in the 1980s. At that time, the pioneer Luis Raifer on the namesake vineyard not only planted new grape varieties, but also introduced new quality standards: lower yield per grape and wine of better quality. It was precisely on this pilot vineyard that the “Lafóa idea” was born: the introduction of new quality standards that are still rigorously followed today by both the winegrower members and the collaborators in the winery. Today, Lafóa is synonymous with whites and reds with a strong structure, refined and with great aging potential.
THE WINE
The Pinot Nero Riserva Linea Lafóa from Colterenzio is a wine with a strong character, elegant and rich in finesse. The intense fruity aromas are well integrated with soft tannins and acidity, in a harmonious blend. A wine created in the style of the great Pinot Noir from Burgundy, complex, balanced, persistent, and with great aging potential.
