The wines from the hamlet of Colterenzio were favourites of Archduke Sigismund when he resided at Firmiano Castle in the 15th century, though the area was producing fine wines much earlier. Around 15 b.C. a Roman country gentleman named Cornelius settled here and established his "Cornelianum" wine estate and the first wine culture in the area. The Roman name eventually evolved into "Cornaiano", the village Colterenzio calls home. The Colterenzio winegrowers' co-operative was founded by 28 vintners in 1960. Over the years other passionate viticulturalists from diversified micro-zones in the area joined the collective, and today nearly 300 members cultivate approximately 300 hectares of vineyards.
Alto Adige Gewürztraminer 'Lafòa' Range by Colterenzio is the flagship of the company. Excellent white that comes from grapes grown on calcareous soils, enriched by clayey deposits. The gewürztraminer finds its ideal habitat here, expressing great freshness and typicality of the area as well as a high aging potential.
'Cornelius' by Cornell Colterenzio is an elegant Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet all in the name of the South Tyrol terroir and its wine culture. The wine is assembled and racked into small oak barrels, destined to mature for 14 months before a period of aging in the bottle for a further 12 months. Cornell represents the excellence of Colterenzio, are wines produced with grapes from the best vineyards that, thanks to the care, passion and aging in barrels are transformed into extremely complex and long-lived tastings.
'Berg' by Colterenzio is made from carefully selected grapes coming entirely from the 'Eppan Berg' area, meaning Appiano Monte, historically renowned in South Tyrol for the production of excellent Pinot Blanc. Aged in wood, on the lees for fermentation, for about 10 months, it is a pleasantly fruity wine, with an elegant minerality. Excellent in combination with seafood dishes.
'Puiten' by Colterenzio is a classic rich in finesse produced with grapes from selected historic vineyards. Fermented and then left to mature for ten months, part in steel and part in tonneau is among the best Pinot Grigio in South Tyrol. A charming, delicate, soft, fresh and mineral wine, a delicate balance between elegance and complexity. Pleasantly fruity bouquet and harmonious and balanced taste.
'St. Daniel' Riserva by Colterenzio is made using historic vineyards on the heights between Ora and Montagna and is a perfect example of the great red wines of South Tyrol. It stands out for the refined elegance it knows how to express, with notes of ripe red berries and fine and delicate tannins. Balanced and of great harmony.

Sauvignon Blanc 'Lafòa' Range by Colterenzio is made from a vineyard that offers wines of unmistakable character, with an important structure and a marked class. Fresh and floral, this Sauvignon blanc is a young wine with an ancient soul. The Sauvignon berries are subjected to gentle pressing and half of the must obtained is fermented in steel tanks, the other half is aged in barriques. After 8 months on the fine lees, the wine is carefully assembled and bottled. Intense fruity notes on the nose reminiscent of elderberry, acacia flowers and sage linked by elegant hints of wood. A wine with a tasty acidity and a long finish.
