Marsala Vergine Riserva DOC 2000 by Pellegrino is an extraordinary wine, the result of a meticulous production process rooted in Sicily’s finest winemaking traditions. Made exclusively from Grillo grapes, hand-harvested and carefully vinified, this Marsala contains no added cooked must or mistella. It is aged for over 20 years in oak casks, in cellars with wide temperature fluctuations, strictly following the Marsala Vergine Riserva DOC regulations. No alcohol or sugar is added—only time and wood shape its remarkable character. The result is a dry, complex, and long-lasting Marsala, offering notes of walnuts, spices, tobacco, and fine woods. Perfect as a meditation wine or paired with blue cheeses and foie gras. A rare bottle for connoisseurs and collectors.

Color: Deep amber, bright and compact, with copper and gold reflections that testify to the long oxidation and the refinement extended for decades in wood. The consistency in the glass is high, with dense and slow arches.
Bouquet: Rare complexity and intensity. Ethereal and oxidative notes dominate, typical of prolonged aging: carob, sandalwood, blond tobacco, raisins in alcohol, dried fruit (almond and walnut), tamarind and light balsamic accents. Then emerge nuances of sweet spices (cinnamon and nutmeg), candied orange peel and a salty memory that evokes the proximity of the sea.
Taste: Dry, as the Vergine typology requires, with a decisive and vertical attack. The taste progression is enveloping but severe, dominated by a vibrant acidity and an important salinity that give strength and lengthen the sip. The alcohol content (around 18-19%) is perfectly integrated, and contributes to an elegant caloric sensation. The finish is very long, dry, with returns of dried fruit, woody notes and a mineral impression that closes with sobriety and refinement.
