Marsala Vergine Riserva DOC 2000 by Pellegrino is an extraordinary wine, the result of a long and rigorous production process that reflects the great Sicilian winemaking tradition. Obtained from pure Grillo grapes, hand-picked and carefully vinified, this Marsala stands out for the absence of cooked musts or mistelles. The aging occurs for over 20 years in oak barrels, in environments with strong temperature fluctuations, following the regulations of the Marsala Vergine Riserva DOC designation. No addition of alcohol or sugars: only time and wood shape the sensory profile of this wine. The result is a Marsala dry, complex, and persistent, with notes of nuts, spices, tobacco, and noble woods. Ideal for meditation or paired with blue cheeses and foie gras. A rare bottle for connoisseurs and collectors.

Color: Deep amber, shiny and compact, with copper and golden reflections that testify to the long oxidation and aging process that has lasted for decades in wood. The texture in the glass is high, with dense and slow legs.
Bouquet: Rare complexity and intensity. Ethereal and oxidative notes dominate, typical of prolonged aging: carob, sandalwood, light tobacco, spirit-soaked raisins, dried fruit (almond and walnut), tamarind, and slight balsamic accents. Then emerge nuances of sweet spices (cinnamon and nutmeg), candied orange peel, and a briny memory that evokes the proximity of the sea.
Taste: Dry, as dictated by the Virgin type, with a decisive and vertical attack. The taste progression is enveloping but strict, dominated by vibrant acidity and significant salinity that provide structure and extend the sip. The alcohol content (around 18-19%) is perfectly integrated and contributes to an elegant warming sensation. The finish is very long, dry, with returns of dried fruit, woody notes, and a mineral impression that concludes with sobriety and refinement.
