Marsala Superiore Riserva Ambra Semisecco DOC 1985 (750 ml. wooden box) Pellegrino

Marsala Superiore Riserva Ambra Semisecco DOC 1985 by Cantine Pellegrino is an extraordinary wine that embodies the centuries-old Marsala tradition. Made from Grillo and Catarratto grapes, it is enriched with cooked must, which gives it its characteristic warm amber hue. This wine earns the Superiore Riserva designation thanks to an aging period of over 20 years in oak casks, enhancing its depth and complexity. The semisecco style strikes a perfect balance between sweetness and vibrant acidity. On the nose, it offers elegant aromas of dried fruit, figs, carob, and sweet spices, while the palate reveals a rich structure with a long, harmonious finish. Ideal with blue cheesesdry pastries, or as a meditation wine. A true oenological masterpiece that tells the story of time and the craftsmanship of Cantine Pellegrino, established in 1880 in Marsala.

Color: Deep and intense amber, which testifies to the oxidative evolution undergone during the very long refinement. The copper and mahogany reflections create a warm and enveloping shine, typical of high-quality aged Marsala.

Bouquet: Rich, complex and layered, with an initial impact dominated by dried fruit (dried figs, dates, toasted almonds), followed by elegant notes of caramel, burnt sugar and candied orange peel. Tertiary hints of sweet tobacco, leather and resins emerge, with a finish that recalls cinnamon, nutmeg and ancient wood, in an olfactory plot that tells of almost four decades of refinement.

Taste: Warm, velvety and of great structure, with a perfect balance between the gentle sweetness and a freshness still alive, which avoids any soft yielding. The sugar residue is well integrated, supported by a solid acid backbone and a savory accent. The persistence is very long, with returns of bitter almond, chestnut honey and oriental spices, in a finish that invites meditation.
