The Pigato Territoriale by Lupi is a Riviera Ligure di Ponente, pure Pigato. In 1961, Tommaso Lupi and a few other pioneers of Ligurian viticulture were the first in Liguria to bottle, label, and market Pigato and Vermentino. Identifying the most suitable area for Pigato, the hills overlooking the sea of Imperia, Tommaso began the cultivation and vinification of Pigato Lupi, thus contributing to the foundation of the Doc. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, followed by 4 months of aging in steel tanks to preserve its freshness, and then 2 months in bottle. A delicate white with notes of peach and Mediterranean herbs. Soft and intense, with delicate fruity notes, good acidity, and a persistent finish. Excellent when paired with traditional Ligurian dishes, fish, white meats, and vegetables.

Lupi

There are those who drink wine, and those who make it a life mission. This is the case of Tommaso Lupi, who at just 24 years old turned a vision into reality by purchasing a fascinating 1300 building to make it the beating heart of a modern winery, at the forefront of winemaking excellence in Liguria. A bold and forward-looking project, born from an authentic passion for the territory and the desire to rewrite the rules of white wine from the Riviera.
The intuition of Lupi marked a turning point: he was the first to believe in the evolving potential of Pigato, elevating it from a ready-to-drink wine to a great white for aging. A revolutionary idea for Liguria, which opened new pathways to quality and the enhancement of native grape varieties.
In 2020, the Lupi winery became part of the PEQ Agri group, with the aim of preserving and growing a historic brand of Ligurian wine. A new phase that looks to the future without forgetting the past, thanks also to the continuity guaranteed by winemaker Alex Berriolo, a key figure in the company's production and still at the technical helm of the winery today.
The production philosophy remains true to its origins: respect for the raw material, attention to the territory, and a vision that combines tradition and innovation. The various DOCs produced represent a journey through the scents and flavors of the most authentic Liguria, telling the story of a challenging yet extraordinarily generous land.

THE WINE
The Pigato Territoriale by Lupi is a Riviera Ligure di Ponente, Pigato in purity. In 1961, Tommaso Lupi and a few other pioneers of Ligurian viticulture were the first in Liguria to bottle, label, and market Pigato and Vermentino. Identifying the most suitable area for Pigato, the hills overlooking the sea of Imperia, Tommaso initiated the cultivation and vinification of Pigato Lupi, thus contributing to the foundation of the DOC. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, followed by aging for 4 months in steel tanks to preserve freshness, and then 2 months in the bottle. A delicate white wine with notes of peach and Mediterranean herbs. Soft and intense, with delicate fruity notes, good acidity, and a persistent finish. Excellent paired with traditional Ligurian dishes, fish, white meats, and vegetables.
THE COMPANY

Tommaso Lupi, at 24 years old, decided to follow his passion by purchasing a stunning building from the 1300s and transforming it into a modern and cutting-edge winery, where various DOC wines are produced. Tommaso Lupi's far-sighted intuition broke the mold of Ligurian white winemaking. He was the first to pay great attention to Pigato, making it the first Ligurian white wine suited for aging. In 2020, the acquisition by PEQ Agri took place. It was born from the desire to preserve the brand of a company that symbolizes Ligurian wine and elevate it even further. Continuity with the past and tradition is ensured by the direct experience of winemaker Alex Berriolo, who has remained at the helm of the company's wine production.
