Verdicchio di Matelica DOC 'Oppano' 2021 (750 ml.) Sergio Marani

The Verdicchio di Matelica 'Oppano' (literally "you make me shadow") by Sergio Marani is made from Verdicchio grapes sourced from a vineyard facing north and towards the sea. The old vines and a perfect microclimate create a structure that strongly supports this expression of Verdicchio di Matelica. After the harvest and pressing, the must is fermented in large tonneaux that have been used since the 1950s and are therefore equipped with a layer of tartrates that prevent oxidation of the wine and contact with the wood. Notes of dried fruit and almond with a fine spiciness of cardamom and green tea infusion. Good minerality, medium body, and great flavor intensity. A broad and delicate wine.

Sergio Marani

In the enchanting setting of the Umbrian hills, where nature paints landscapes of rare beauty, stands the winery Sergio Marani. This small production reality is a hidden gem in the heart of Umbria, a land rich in history and winemaking tradition. With a production that boasts the IGT Umbria designation, Sergio Marani has carved out an important place in the Italian wine scene thanks to an approach that combines craftsmanship with a deep respect for nature.

At the core of this winery's production philosophy is an unconditional love for the land and its most genuine expressions. The vineyards are cultivated using natural methods, a commitment that translates into wines with a strong territorial connection, capable of expressing the essence of Umbria in every glass. Among the grape varieties grown, Grechetto and Sangiovese stand out, two vines that embody the tradition and identity of this region.

The Rosso Marani, one of the flagship labels, is a wine that tells the story of these lands with intensity and passion. Characterized by a enveloping structure and complex aromas, it is a wine that reveals itself sip by sip. Alongside it, the Bianco Umbria stands out for its freshness and fruity notes that evoke the lush nature of these hills.
