The 'Casòn Bianco' by Alois Lageder focuses on the distinctive characteristics of viognier, which here develops a remarkable typicity. The vineyards, with vines aged between 20 and 60 years, are those of Casòn Hirschprunn in Magrè, and are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods. Spontaneous fermentation in barriques, where it then ages on the lees for 11 months, followed by further aging in wooden barrels. The wine is intensely aromatic, fruity with notes of candied fruit and exotic spices blended with vanilla. Full-bodied and well-structured with toasty aromas, savory and with excellent freshness. The aromatic persistence is good. It pairs easily with any meal, from elaborate and flavorful fish, to shellfish, to white meat and poultry.

THE WINE
The 'Casòn Bianco' by Alois Lageder focuses on the characteristics of viognier which here develops a remarkable typicity. The vineyards, with vines aged between 20 and 60 years, are those of Casòn Hirschprunn in Magrè, and they are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods. Spontaneous fermentation occurs in barriques, where it then ages on the lees for 11 months, followed by further aging in wooden barrels. The wine is intensely aromatic, fruity with an emphasis on candied fruit and exotic spices fused with vanilla. It has a full body and is well-structured with toasty aromas, savory and with excellent freshness. The aromatic persistence is good. It pairs easily throughout the meal, from elaborately flavored fish to shellfish, white meat, and poultry.
THE COMPANY

A true synonym of excellence, Alois Lageder has over the years demonstrated the best that Alto Adige can express in terms of personality, elegance, and territorial adherence. This result is the offspring of a clear vision of their work, where every activity is closely linked to the others in a virtuous circle that has found fulfillment in the conversion of the proprietary vineyards to biodynamics.
Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: “quality is always the result of many details, sometimes even minimal - recalls Alois Lageder - and in all phases of processing we primarily try to find harmony among all the factors involved, working in harmony with nature.” It is no coincidence that each wine, like few others in the region, manages to narrate the always different characteristics of its vineyard of origin - Alto Adige is indeed a land extremely rich in soil variety, microclimatic zones, and exposures, offering ideal conditions to produce wines with marked individuality. The grapes harvested in the family-owned vineyards, about 50 hectares between Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno, and in the Caldaro lake area, are cultivated with organic and biodynamic methods certified by Demeter. Furthermore, besides managing their own vineyards, the company collaborates with a number of trusted winegrowers from various areas of Alto Adige, vineyards which collectively extend over another 110 hectares, of which about a quarter is cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
From this extraordinary context arise wines that are true ambassadors of the territory, captivating whites and reds that make up an assortment composed of three quality levels: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, the Masi.
