The Grand Cru Kirchberg de Ribeauvillé 2018 by Domaine Jean Sipp is a pure Riesling from organic farming, grown between 270 and 350 m on very stony marl and limestone soils, giving structure and deep minerality. The sun-exposed terroir ensures balanced ripeness and rich fruit. Extended aging on fine lees until bottling adds creaminess, complexity, and notable aging potential. The 2018 vintage, warm but tempered by cool nights, produced intense, generous wines with vivid acidity and remarkable balance. Aromas of lime, grapefruit, peach, and flint. On the palate: broad, saline, persistent, with an elegant, slightly sweet finish. Perfect with shellfish, refined fish, white meats, and aged cheeses.

Domaine Jean Sipp

In the heart of Alsace, a land of extraordinary beauty and winemaking tradition, the Domaine Jean Sipp represents a beacon of authenticity and oenological mastery. This historic Alsace winery is surrounded by a landscape of rolling hills and vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see, a unique terroir that gives the wines an unmistakable personality. The origins of the Domaine date back to generations of winemakers who have managed to combine tradition and innovation, always placing quality excellence at the center.
The heart of the production of the Domaine Jean Sipp is located in the prestigious AOC Alsace, a designation that evokes aromatic whites of rare precision and consistency. The cultivated grapes, including the noble varieties of Riesling and Gewürztraminer, are the result of a territory that promotes slow ripening, allowing for the development of complex aromatic profiles and unparalleled nuances.
Among the main labels, the Riesling Grand Cru Kirchberg stands out as an authentic masterpiece. This wine embodies the elegance and depth typical of the best Alsace Rieslings, offering hints of white flowers, citrus, and a minerality that evolves gracefully over time. Each sip is a journey through the nuances of the terroir, an experience that fascinates and captivates the palate.
We invite all wine enthusiasts to discover on Vino45 the extraordinary labels of the Domaine Jean Sipp. A unique opportunity to be carried away by the magic of Alsatian whites, where tradition, territory, and passion merge into a perfect blend of taste and history.

THE ESTATE

Jean-Guillaume took over the estate in 2014. After his training at the Lycée Agricole de Rouffach, he interned with several winemakers including Domaines Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace, Olivier Leflaive in Burgundy, Marcel Guigal in Ampuis in the Rhône, and Domaine Mont-Redon in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. He also approached other New World vineyards, such as Chile, Argentina, South Africa, and New Zealand. Primarily in the vineyards, where he developed soil management and affirmed his commitment to the environment. His efforts were rewarded with HVE certification (High Environmental Value in 2019) and Organic certification in 2021. In the cellar, he vinifies drier wines than his predecessors, with beautiful complexity and clock-like precision. He chose single parcel vinification, and it was following this choice that we saw the emergence of Riesling Grossberg and Riesling Haguenau, as well as a dry Pinot Grigio Hagel.
