The Puligny Montrachet 'Les Charmes' by Domaine Alain Chavy is a pure Chardonnay produced from vineyards over 30 years old located in the municipality of Puligny Montrachet and, more precisely, in the lieux-dit Les Charmes, bordering the lower area of the namesake Premier Cru of Meursault. The grapes, harvested by hand, are pressed and then cooled for 18-20 hours before the alcoholic fermentation begins. The aging lasts 16 months in French oak barrels. The bouquet is intense and complex, with hints of yellow berry fruit (peach, melon, apple) and citrus notes, followed by buttery and vanilla notes with a mineral and spicy finish. On the palate, it is fine and elegant, with fresh mineral notes, rich and finely spiced.

Domaine Alain Chavy

In the enchanted land of Burgundy, where every row tells a centuries-old story, lies the Domaine Alain Chavy. Located in the prestigious village of Puligny-Montrachet, this winery is a beacon for white wine enthusiasts seeking elegance and authenticity. The region, renowned for producing the finest whites in the world, offers a unique terroir, and Alain Chavy is a master interpreter, capable of extracting the full potential of Chardonnay from its limestone and clay soils.
The production philosophy of Alain Chavy is based on a deep respect for Burgundian tradition, combined with meticulous attention to detail. The approach is to let nature take its course, intervening only when necessary to ensure that every drop of wine reflects the purity and tension typical of the AOC Puligny-Montrachet designation. The winery is known for its ability to produce wines that, although young, already show a complex structure and promise surprising longevity.
The vineyards, cultivated with passion and care, are dedicated exclusively to Chardonnay, the undisputed king of these lands. Among the main labels, the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru stands out for its depth and finesse. On the nose, it opens with notes of white flowers and citrus, evolving into a bouquet of white-fleshed fruit and subtle mineral hints. On the palate, its lively acidity and creamy texture create a perfect balance, leaving a persistence that invites another sip.
Let yourself be seduced by the wines of Domaine Alain Chavy, available on Vino45. An invitation to explore the refinement of Burgundy whites, where every bottle is a sensory journey through the history and passion of this iconic region.

THE WINE
The Puligny Montrachet 'Les Charmes' by Domaine Alain Chavy is a pure Chardonnay produced from vineyards over 30 years old located in the municipality of Puligny Montrachet, more specifically in the lieu-dit Les Charmes, at the border with the lower area of the eponymous Premier Cru of Meursault. The grapes, harvested by hand, are pressed and then cooled for 18-20 hours before the alcoholic fermentation begins. The aging lasts 16 months in French oak barrels. The bouquet reveals itself to be intense and complex, with hints of yellow berry fruits (peach, melon, apple) and citrus notes, followed by buttery and vanilla notes with a mineral and spicy finish. On the palate, it is fine and elegant, with fresh mineral notes, rich and finely spiced.
THE COMPANY

Alain Chavy gained his experience in the wine industry alongside his brother Jean-Louis at the family domaine Gérard Chavy et Fils, located in Puligny-Montrachet, in the Côte de Beaune. Following the retirement of their father Gérard at the end of the 1990s, the two brothers, after collaborating for several years in managing the family domaine, decided to divide the owned plots between them and create their own businesses.
In 2003, Domaine Alain Chavy was born in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet: today the estate counts 6.5 hectares of vineyards managed according to the principles of lutte raisonnée, thus limiting the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. All vinifications take place in the underground cellar – one of the few in the municipality of Puligny-Montrachet – built near the center of the village and decidedly state-of-the-art. The grapes, harvested by hand, are vinified separately depending on the vineyard of origin, with the exception of the very small village parcels: after pressing, they are cooled for 18-20 hours before the alcoholic fermentation begins. The aging takes place in oak barrels and lasts for at least a year. The wines of Domaine Alain Chavy are representatives of the terroir of Puligny-Montrachet and are distinguished by their purity, elegance, and pronounced minerality.
