The Pinot Blanc “Kristallberg” 2021 Elena Walch is a true mountain wine, expressing verticality, complexity and minerality. The 2021 vintage, cool with strong temperature shifts, allowed slow ripening that highlights elegance and aromatic precision. It comes from a vineyard on a plateau at 600 m a.s.l. between Tramin and Caldaro, ensuring freshness and finesse. Bright straw-yellow, it shows on the nose fresh pears, white-fleshed fruit, green walnuts, mineral and smoky notes. Fermented and aged partly in stainless steel and partly in French oak barrels with bâtonnage. On the palate, sapidity, elegance and youthful vibrancy are sustained by a lively acidity. Ideal with fish, shellfish, white meats and fresh cheeses.

Elena Walch is a prominent family-run winery in South Tyrol, a flagship of Italian wine production and renowned internationally. A promoter of quality and innovation, Elena Walch has contributed to guiding the qualitative revolution in South Tyrol, thus earning great local and international recognition. An architect by profession, Elena Walch married the heir of one of the oldest winemaking families in the region, bringing with her new concepts of modernizing the traditional company. Today, the company is managed by her daughters Julia and Karoline Walch, the fifth generation of the family.
The company's philosophy is closely tied to its terroir: the principle is that wines should be a unique expression of their land, climate, and the work done in the vineyard, and that the vineyard should be worked according to the principles of sustainability and passed on to future generations. The deep conviction that the quality of wine originates in the vineyard thus brings with it the desire to work uncompromisingly, respecting the individual characteristics of each vineyard. With 60 hectares under cultivation, including the two vineyards VIGNA Castel Ringberg in Caldaro and VIGNA Kastelaz in Tramin, Elena Walch is among the most important wine personalities in South Tyrol.
The wines are distinguished by character, elegance, and pronounced personality, combined with the highest professionalism in production. The superb climatic conditions and the exceptional location of the estates give rise to fresh and fruity white wines, as well as concentrated and soft red wines.
