Franciacorta Extra Brut Rosé 2020 by Barone Pizzini is a 100% organic Pinot Noir wine, born from vineyards surrounded by woods at an altitude of 200 to 350 meters above sea level. The fluvio-glacial and morainic soil, rich in gravel and pebbles, gives elegance and freshness. On the nose, it releases intense notes of currant, blueberry, sour cherry, and rose, with balsamic and underbrush nuances. On the palate, it is sensual, structured, fresh, with a persistent savory-acidic texture. Part of the grapes comes from Pian delle Viti, a high-altitude vineyard marginally touched by an ancient glacier. Aging of 31 months on the lees, with partial vinification in used barriques. Excellent with pasta dishes, fish, white meats, aged cheeses, and cold cuts. 1,664 cases produced.

Barone Pizzini

Barone Pizzini is considered one of the historic wineries of Franciacorta, known and esteemed for the quality and reliability of its cuvées. Founded in Provaglio d’Iseo in 1870 by Baron Giulio Pizzini Piomarta Von Thurberg, the winery is now led by a group of passionate entrepreneurs from Brescia: Ugo Colombo, Piermatteo Ghitti, and Silvano Brescianini. In 1998, it was the first winery in Franciacorta to embrace the cause of organic viticulture and today, alongside the pursuit of quality and excellence, it continues its commitment to sustainable agriculture.
The vineyards of Barone Pizzini extend over a total of 47 hectares divided into 25 parcels among the towns of Provaglio, Corte Franca, Ado, and Passirado. They are rooted at about 200 meters of altitude on partly morainic soils, enriched by fluvioglacial deposits. The cultivation methods are organic and aim for the harmonious balance of the plant, the production of well-characterized grapes, a guarantee of quality and health for the consumer, and the protection of the environment and territory. The harvested grapes are conveyed and vinified in an ultra-modern winery, built in 2006 according to eco-compatible architectural criteria, equipped with photovoltaic panels and natural conditioning systems.
From the lively and very rigorous activity of the Barone Pizzini winery comes a rich and extraordinary range of Franciacorta sparkling wines, all of great quality and indissolubly linked to the territory. These are organic wines that preserve and convey great charm, not to be missed by all bubble lovers.
