The Pauillac AOC Grand Cru Classé 2021 Chateau Clerc Milon comes from a fresh and complex vintage: spring frosts reduced yields, while the dry, moderate summer ensured slow ripening, giving wines of great balance and aromatic finesse. Vineyards on gravelly and sandy soils with limestone lend elegance and structure to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Carmenère, hand-harvested and vinified by plot. Aging lasts 16–18 months in French oak barrels, 50% new, with regular rackings that enrich the bouquet of black fruits, graphite, vanilla and cocoa. On the palate, silky tannins, mineral freshness, and a persistent finish. Ideal with red meats, game and aged cheeses, with strong aging potential.

Château Clerc Milon

Château Clerc Milon is a name that evokes charm and tradition in the prestigious Pauillac appellation, the beating heart of the Médoc. Its history is rooted in the 1855 classification, when the estate was recognized as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé. Situated in a privileged location, between two absolute icons: Château Lafite Rothschild and Château Mouton Rothschild, Clerc Milon benefits from an exceptional terroir, with gravelly and calcareous soils that ensure optimal drainage and ripening of the grapes.
The 41 hectares of vineyards represent a mosaic of traditional Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon provides power and structure, Merlot adds roundness and softness, Cabernet Franc adds freshness and aromatic complexity, while small parcels of Petit Verdot and Carmenère enrich the cuvée with spicy touches and unique depth. This varietal yields wines of great balance, faithfully expressing the soul of Pauillac.
Since 1970, the property has been owned by the Rothschild family, who have successfully enhanced it with targeted investments and cutting-edge winemaking techniques. Today, Clerc Milon is considered a benchmark wine, capable of competing with higher-ranking labels. When young, it is distinguished by intense aromas of black fruits, spices, and dried flowers, with precise and silky tannins; with age, it reveals elegance, finesse, and extraordinary persistence, demonstrating a potential for development that often exceeds twenty years.
Clerc Milon is therefore the perfect blend of tradition, terroir, and innovation, a Grand Cru Classé that offers authentic and lasting emotions, now also available through special selections such as those curated by Vino45.
