Alto Adige DOC Pinot Noir 'Marjun' 2022 (750 ml.) Cantina Tramin

Alto Adige DOC Pinot Noir “Marjun” from Cantina Tramin comes from vineyards on limestone-clay soils at 350–650 m a.s.l., with limestone gravel, clay and porphyry. The name recalls a calcareous detrital layer (“marra” in pre-Latin). The Mediterranean climate gives warm days, while cold, windy nights ensure strong temperature shifts. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and crushed; the must flows by gravity into vats for 4 days of cryomaceration, followed by 15 days of fermentation, short rest in cement, then malolactic fermentation in barriques and 11 months aging in pièces. After blending, it matures in vats and bottle. Elegant and complex, ideal with game, red meat, aged cheeses.

Cantina Tramin

Cantina Tramin is a historic wine cooperative in South Tyrol, founded in 1898 by Christian Schrott, parish priest of Termeno and pioneer in enhancing the local wine heritage. Today, it brings together about 160 families of winegrowers who cultivate a total of 270 hectares of vineyards located between 250 and 850 meters above sea level, in an area characterized by strong temperature variations, diverse soils, and a microclimate ideal for grape ripening.

The production philosophy of Cantina Tramin combines tradition and innovation: agricultural practices respect the environment and promote biodiversity, while in the winery, winemaking is carried out with artisanal care and cutting-edge technology to enhance the varietal character. The most representative grapes include Gewürztraminer, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Lagrein, and Schiava.

The winery’s name is closely linked to Gewürztraminer, the aromatic variety symbolic of Termeno, from which iconic labels such as Nussbaumer and Epokale (the first Italian wine awarded 100/100 by Wine Advocate) are made. In addition to premium lines, the company offers fresh, approachable wines for everyday enjoyment and high-end selections destined for fine dining.

Cantina Tramin stands out for its human and cooperative approach, where every member actively contributes to collective success. The result is wines that tell the story of South Tyrol with elegance, precision, and identity. Among the online sales channels, it can also be found on specialized platforms such as Vino45, which select outstanding labels for wine enthusiasts and collectors.
