Argiolas

In the beating heart of Sardinia, where the sun embraces the hills and the wind carries the scent of the sea, stands the Argiolas winery, an undisputed symbol of Sardinian winemaking. Founded in a land rich in history and ancient traditions, Argiolas is a beacon for those seeking the authenticity and beauty of the island's native grape varieties.
The production philosophy of Argiolas is in perfect harmony with nature: the adoption of sustainable practices in viticulture is a distinctive feature that reflects love and respect for the land. Here, the grapes grow lush, caressed by the Mediterranean climate that gives them a unique character. Among these, Cannonau, Vermentino, and Carignano tell stories of land and sea, of sun and wind.
Among the labels that uphold the name of Argiolas, Turriga stands out as a true masterpiece. This wine, an icon of Sardinian excellence, is an ode to complexity and depth, capable of enveloping the senses with its intense aromas and refined structure. It is a sensory journey that begins with notes of ripe red fruits, then reveals spices and balsamic nuances, in a crescendo of emotions culminating in a long and satisfying finish.

THE WINE

THE FAMILY
One cannot talk about the winery without talking about the family. It's a story that begins at the start of the 1900s, in Serdiana, a land of farmers, olive groves, and vineyards. Here, in 1906, Antonio, the patriarch, was born. He started planting rows, joining vine to vine, and producing with a quest for quality and rigor. His two sons, Franco and Giuseppe, inherited this passion from him, and in turn, shared and passed it on, first to their wives Pina and Marianna, and then to their children. Today, the third generation of the Argiolas family already works in the winery: the grandchildren of Antonio. In the end, it is simple: harvest after harvest, from parents to children, the tradition is passed down.
THE TERRITORY
Serdiana is near Cagliari, just inland. It is in an area of low rolling hills, like an amphitheater around the city and its gulf. These lands have been cultivated for millennia, and even then they were the city's olive groves, fields, and vineyards. In these countryside areas, many small medieval, Romanesque churches arise: each was the center of one of the farming communities that dotted the landscape. This is an area that seems made for vines: undulating, rich in sun and wind, with the nearby sea that moderates the heat and cold. Here, the great Sardinian grape varieties are cultivated. Some are famous, like Cannonau, Vermentino, Carignano. Others are less known: like Monica, Bovale, Nasco, Girò, Nuragus. Among these grape varieties, there is every variety, every personality, and nuance. These are treasures to protect, cultivate, and share. Because we are in a land of winemakers. In the middle of the Mediterranean. In Sardinia.
