The 'Cason' Rosso by Alois Lageder is based on Tannat, an exotic grape variety for Alto Adige. This variety is originally from France. In Alto Adige, it reaches full ripeness and maintains a high acidity, an optimal condition for producing excellent red wines. Spontaneous fermentation of the crushed grapes, with varying percentages of whole cluster, in wooden barrels. Maturation in large and small wooden barrels. It is followed by aging in the bottle. It is a red wine with an intense, fruity bouquet (plum, blackberry), notes of leather, tea, and smokiness. On tasting, it is medium-bodied, smooth, fruity, finely bitter, fresh, with a fresh acidity.

THE WINE
The 'Cason' Rosso by Alois Lageder uses Tannat as its base, an exotic grape variety for Alto Adige. This variety originates from France. In Alto Adige, it reaches full maturity and retains high acidity, an optimal condition for producing excellent red wines. Spontaneous fermentation of the crushed grapes, with various percentages of whole clusters, in wooden barrels. Maturation in large and small wooden barrels. This is followed by aging in the bottle. It is a red with an intense bouquet, fruity (plum, blackberry), notes of leather, tea, and smokiness. On tasting, it is medium-bodied, smooth, fruity, finely bitter, fresh, with fresh acidity.
THE COMPANY

A true synonym of excellence, Alois Lageder over the years has demonstrated the best that Alto Adige can express in terms of personality, elegance, and territorial adherence. A result born from a clear vision of their work, where every activity is closely linked to the others in a virtuous circle that has found fulfillment in the conversion of their vineyards to biodynamics.
Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: “quality is always the result of many details, sometimes even minimal - recalls Alois Lageder - and in all phases of processing we first try to find harmony among all the factors involved, working in tune with nature.” It is no coincidence that each wine, more than most others in the region, can tell the diverse characteristics of its vineyard of origin - Alto Adige is indeed a land extremely rich in soil variety, microclimatic zones, and exposures, thus offering ideal conditions to produce wines with strong individuality. The grapes harvested from the family-owned vineyards, about 50 hectares between Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno, and in the area of Lake Caldaro, are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods certified by Demeter. Additionally, besides managing the family-owned vineyards, the company collaborates with a number of trusted winegrowers from different areas of Alto Adige, vineyards which collectively extend over another 110 hectares, about a quarter of which are cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
It is from this extraordinary context that wines are born, true ambassadors of the territory, charming whites and reds that make up an assortment composed of three quality levels: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, the Masi.
