The Pinot Nero Venezia Giulia IGT 2018 by Bressan is made from pure grapes of the homonymous variety. An authentic red, where the vineyard conveys the land’s strength without chemical or synthetic intervention. Fermentation is spontaneous, with long skin macerations and 2 years in large oak barrels. Full-bodied and intense, elegant and dry, it releases notes of undergrowth, spices and vegetal hints, with a bewitching nose of black pepper, damp earth and ripe tomato. On the palate it is sumptuous, with silky, polished tannins, ideal with game, white meats and aged cheeses. A unique wine, of rare texture and depth.

Here, where the gentle hills blend with the fresh breezes of the Adriatic, grapes are passionately cultivated, telling the story of a generous and mysterious land. The IGT Venezia Giulia designation is the stage on which Bressan showcases its wine spectacle, a sensory journey rooted in ancient practices and uncompromising methods.
The production philosophy of Bressan is a hymn to nature and craftsmanship. Each glass is the result of a process that respects the natural cycle, where the hand of man guides wisely and sensitively. The grapes, including the distinctive Schioppettino and the refined Pinot Grigio, are cultivated using traditional methods, without invasive interventions, to preserve the essence of the terroir and the purity of varietal expression.
The wines of Bressan are a symphony of character and complexity. Their Schioppettino stands out for its bold personality, with spicy notes and a robust body that envelops the senses in an engaging embrace. On the other hand, the Pinot Noir from Bressan offers a more delicate yet equally intriguing experience, with its aromas of red fruits and a refined structure that enchants with every sip.

THE COMPANY

Fulvio Bressan is a nonconformist Friulian winemaker who categorically rejects the passing and homogenizing trends prevalent in the wine world, proudly following a niche production vision aimed at offering the truest expression of the Isonzo territory. The ancient winemaking roots of the Bressan family date back to the 18th century, while recent recognition is due to Fulvio L. Bressan, the ninth generation of “master winemakers” and current owner, who has successfully led the Farra d’Isonzo winery to worldwide acclaim. For the estate's logo, the Bressan family has taken the family crest, featuring the ankh cross at its center.
Within the approximately 20 hectares of vineyards owned, on soils made up of layers of gravel resting on clay and sandstone marls, Fulvio Bressan cultivates both indigenous and international varieties such as Friulano, Verduzzo, Ribolla Gialla, Istrian Malvasia, Schioppettino, Pignolo, Moscato Rosa, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The plants are cultivated according to a truly sustainable and conscientious viticulture, excluding the use of synthetic chemicals and requiring manual execution of agronomic operations, respecting the natural cycle of the vine. Harvesting is carried out only when the grapes have reached full maturity and is followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation of the musts in stainless steel tanks, in contact with the skins even for white grapes. The wine containers used for aging include stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels of various sizes and types, where the wines remain to mature on the fine lees until bottling, which is done without any prior filtration.
The wines from the Bressan winery represent true jewels of Friulian artisanal winemaking, featuring exemplary typicity born from a solid farming culture. From orange wines to red wines, including the peculiar ‘Rosantico’, the labels of Fulvio Bressan are unique expressions that reflect the strong personality of their creator.
