The Pinot Noir 'Schistes' by Jean-Luc Jamet is a textured and spicy wine, pure Pinot Noir. Jean-Luc Jamet is an icon who produces some of the finest wines of Côte-Rôtie. The Schiste vineyard is ideally located above Ampuis, on schistous soils from vines about 10 years old. Hand-picked, it undergoes a 15-day fermentation in stainless steel, then aged “sur lie” (on fine lees) for 7 months in 50% oak barrels (10% new) and 50% stainless steel tanks. The wine is then blended without filtration. This Pinot Noir is powerful and deep, with notes of raspberry and cherry, smoked meat, and barbecue. On the palate, it has crunchy red fruits and earthy, spicy tannins. Ideal with game dishes, smoked meats, and grilled vegetables.

A name that evokes tradition and passion, an echo that resonates among the granite hills of Côte-Rôtie, known for their steep vineyards and the extraordinary quality of the wines that come to life here.
Jean-Luc Jamet, with his past linked to the former Domaine Jamet, has carved out a place of honor in the French wine scene. His mastery lies in the art of interpreting the unique terroir of the Rhône, a place where Syrah finds its most noble and intense expression. Here, every row of vines seems to tell an ancient story, a story made of traditions passed down from generation to generation and a deep respect for the land.
The production philosophy of Jean-Luc Jamet is a hymn to territorial fidelity. His is an unceasing quest for depth and finesse, values that are reflected in every sip of his wines. THE WINE
The Pinot Noir 'Schistes' by Jean-Luc Jamet is a textured and spicy wine, pure Pinot Noir. Jean-Luc Jamet is an icon who produces some of the most exquisite wines of Côte-Rôtie. The Schiste vineyard is ideally located above Ampuis, on schist soils from vines about 10 years old. Manual harvest, followed by fermentation in stainless steel for 15 days, then aged “sur lie” (on fine lees) for 7 months in oak barrels 50% (10% new) and 50% stainless steel tank. The wine is then blended without filtration. This Pinot Noir is powerful and deep, with notes of raspberry and cherry, smoked meat, and barbecue. THE ESTATE

Jean-Luc Jamet is one of the most iconic producers of Côte-Rôtie and Côte du Rhône. His journey began in 1991, working alongside his brother Jean-Paul at the famous family estate "Domaine Jamet". The magnificent Domaine occupied some of the best parts of Côte-Rôtie and Côte du Rhône, but in 2013 the brothers separated and divided the 16-hectare estate in half. With a brand new cellar (literally separated by a wall from his brother's) and the same wonderful vineyards at hand, Jean-Luc - the "phoenix" of Côte Rôtie - began a new adventure. He now applies his art in producing wines of extreme delicacy according to his tastes and demanding standards. Jean-Luc has always sought to plant and cultivate vineyards in the best parts of Côte-Rôtie, both on Côte Blonde and – more commonly – on Côte Brune. His favorite and famous areas such as “Lancement,” “Chavaroche,” “La Landonne,” “Les Moutonnes,” “Les Rochins” are recognized as complex lands, suitable for Syrah, composed of schist and granite.
