It is left to macerate on the skins for 15 days in wooden tanks, and then ages for 1 year in 25 hectoliter barrels.
THE COMPANY
Founded in 1990, the estate Skerk is a young and continuously growing company thanks to the quality of its products. The 6 hectares of property, located in Prepotto on the Karst Plateau, benefit from a climate and terroir perfect for the cultivation of the vitovska, Istrian malvasia, sauvignon, pinot grigio, and terrano grape varieties, which indeed express themselves at exceptional levels. The company's philosophy adopts a fully natural and organic approach, with certification to prove it, prohibiting any chemical treatment. The winery itself is a simple cave carved into the karst rock where the wines, never clarified or filtered, undergo macerations and fermentations. Sandi Skerk, the owner of the company, has succeeded in producing unique wines with a typical Friulian imprint, now highly appreciated by both the public and critics inside and outside Italian borders.
