'Overture' by Opus One originates in Oakville in the Napa Valley on a dark volcanic soil. It is crafted by blending the best of different vintages to create a wine of great prestige and potential for evolution. The five grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec) are hand-harvested. After careful selection, the berries are placed in tanks for fermentation at controlled temperatures. A timeless expression of the estate's vineyards, it reveals explosive fruity notes and sweet spices, due to the prolonged aging in barrels during its youth, but it is destined to enrich its bouquet with long aging. Limited edition.

Opus One

In the bright wine cradle of California, among the golden hills of Napa Valley, one of the most illustrious collaborations in the global wine scene comes to life: Opus One. This bold and visionary project was born from the meeting of two wine giants, Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, combining Californian tradition with Bordeaux elegance in an unprecedented wine experience.
The terroir of Napa Valley, with its Mediterranean climate and mineral-rich alluvial soils, offers the ideal conditions for cultivating the grapes that make the blend of Opus One unique. Here, orderly rows of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, enriched by varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, give life to a wine that is the emblem of luxury and refinement, a true tribute to nature and human savoir-faire.
Every bottle of Opus One is a symphony of aromas and flavors, a sensory experience that enchants and seduces. The main wine of the winery, Opus One, presents itself with an opulent structure and extraordinary aromatic complexity. Its scents of ripe black fruits, sweet spices, and tertiary notes of tobacco and chocolate blend in perfect balance, while on the palate it offers a velvety smoothness and a persistent finish that invites reflection.
Explore the excellence of Opus One on Vino45, a journey into a dimension where time and space merge, offering unforgettable moments of pure oenological beauty.

THE COMPANY

Producing wine in harmony with the surrounding environment, capturing the best of expressiveness: this is the goal of Opus One Winery, a prestigious Californian company. Even from the building that houses the winery, perfectly integrated, almost camouflaged, within the context of the vineyards, this careful search is evident. Four plots form the terroir where Opus One wines are produced: here, the traditional varieties that make up the Bordeaux blend (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot) are cultivated with experience, passion, and dedication. Attention and the human touch are fundamental to calibrate and enhance the characteristics of each vintage. A unique and inimitable wine, the flagship of the company's production, Opus One represents not only the progenitor of great Californian Cabernets but also the symbiosis between two of the world's most important wine entities: the Mondavi family and the Mouton Rothschild group. Born in 1979, the result of continuous research and refinement, it quickly established itself in the elite of contemporary winemaking thanks to an unstoppable qualitative growth. Today, more than thirty years later, it is indeed synonymous with great Bordeaux blends due to its exceptional texture and elegance. Overture, the "younger" brother but only chronologically, reflects the artistic skill of the winemaker, who manages to combine the traditional varieties of the Bordeaux blend while capturing the uniqueness of the terroir, as each grape variety is grown in different soils. In addition to these elements, Overture also adds the factor of "time," blending different vintages to create a unique product.
