The 'Prelit' by Damijan Podversic is an organic Friulian red wine inspired by classic Bordeaux blends, but with a unique character and personality. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which after a long aging process in wood, offers mature and intense aromas, with rich fruit and a clear mineral connotation typical of the Collio terroir. Dark ruby red with garnet reflections and a bouquet of aromas of blackcurrant, blueberries, dark berry fruits, and hints of underbrush. Elegant, long, and deep taste, with smooth tannins and a pleasantly fresh and mineral finish. Delicious.

THE WINE
The 'Prelit' by Damijan Podversic is a biological red wine from Friuli inspired by classic Bordeaux blends, but with a unique character and personality. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which after a long aging process in wood, offers mature and intense aromas, with rich fruit and a clear mineral connotation typical of the Collio terroir. Dark ruby red with garnet reflections and a bouquet of blackcurrant, blueberries, dark berry fruits, and hints of underbrush. Elegant, long, and deep taste, with smooth tannins and a pleasantly fresh and mineral finish. Delicious.
THE COMPANY
At only forty years old, Damijan Podversic can already boast incredible experience. He started young, taking care of the few family vineyards, learning everything he could about wine from his only teacher: Josko Gravner. Assisting him in the complicated management of the winery-home is his wife Elena, who has been an absolute point of reference for Damijan for years. The most important vineyards of the winery, in addition to the small parcels scattered in Collio, are located on the wooded south-facing slopes of Monte Calvario, on the outskirts of Gorizia, in an unspoiled environment that is perfect for growing healthy and flavorful grapes.
The viticulture practiced is strictly organic, with absolute attention to the balance and health of the plants. Damijan has been skilled in creating absolutely unique wines, avoiding the use of modern and standardizing refining practices, but rather preferring the use of natural winemaking techniques learned from his mentor Josko. His white wines are both fermented on the skins with natural yeasts and are never marketed unless they are absolutely ready to be tasted.
All these attentions to the various winemaking processes make the Podversic winery remarkable, capable of giving us wines of great depth, rich in the flavors and aromas of Collio.
