The Champagne Hommage a William Deutz 'Meurtet' 2015 by Deutz is a 100% Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs 'Pure Ay', notable for being produced exclusively from the historic Meurtet vineyard. A rare and extraordinary wine, conceived and strongly desired by the President of Deutz, Fabrice Rosset, and the Chef de cave Michel Davesne. It is a wine of great personality thanks to the imprint left by the aromas of white and yellow fruits, with apricots and Bigarreau cherries standing out, combined with licorice. Notable balance between freshness and complexity, harmony, and pure elegance. Intense minerality and a rich finish supported by delicate iodized notes, characteristic of the hills where these grapes grow.

Deutz

In the heart of the French region of Champagne, in Aÿ, lies the prestigious Maison Deutz, a symbol of elegance and tradition that has its roots in a past rich in history and passion. Founded in 1838, Deutz is synonymous with excellence and refinement, a name that shines among the most illustrious Champagne producers. Here, among the sun-kissed vineyards and a unique terroir, a production comes to life that celebrates the art of balance and persistence.
The hills of Champagne, with their chalky soils and temperate climate, offer an ideal habitat for cultivating the grapes that are symbols of this region: the noble Pinot Noir, the refined Chardonnay, and the versatile Pinot Meunier. Deutz, with an approach that skillfully blends tradition and innovation, is dedicated with meticulous care to the selection and vinification of these varieties, creating harmonious and highly refined cuvées.
Among the labels that best represent the spirit of Deutz, the Brut Classic stands out, a Champagne that enchants with its freshness and perfect balance between fruit and minerality. Alongside it, the Amour de Deutz, a true declaration of love for the terroir, is characterized by its crystalline purity and extraordinary aromatic persistence. Each bottle signed Deutz is a sensory journey that tells the very essence of Champagne, a luxury to be savored on every special occasion.
Let yourself be enveloped by the magic of Deutz wines and discover on Vino45 the timeless elegance of a tradition that continues to captivate generation after generation.

THE WINE
The Champagne Hommage a William Deutz 'Meurtet' 2015 from Deutz is a 100% Pinot Noir 'Pure Ay' Blanc de Noirs, notable for being produced with grapes exclusively from the historic Meurtet parcels. A rare and extraordinary wine, conceived and strongly desired by the President of Deutz, Fabrice Rosset, and the Chef de cave Michel Davesne, in a 'Limited edition' of only 800 bottles. It is a wine of great personality thanks to the imprint left by the aromas of white and yellow fruits, with apricots and Bigarreau cherries being the most prominent, combined with licorice. Remarkable balance between freshness and complexity, harmony, and pure elegance. Intense minerality and a rich finish sustained by delicate iodized notes, characteristic of the hills where these grapes grow.
THE VINEYARD
Selection of the best grapes from the house coming from Côte des Blancs and from Avize, Le-Mesnil, and Villers-Marmery.
THE HOUSE
The House Deutz was founded in 1838 in Ay, in the Champagne region, by William Deutz and Pierre Geldermann. Hailing from Aachen, the two settled in Ay and opened a small wine shop. Firmly intent on producing great wines from a particularly suitable vineyard, they purchased their first parcel of land in 1838 and began producing grapes, vinifying them in their cellar. William Deutz, who had previously worked for Bollinger, contributed his experience in the cultivation and vinification of grapes, while Pierre Geldermann managed the financial and commercial aspects of the House. In the following years, the House Deutz was forced to sell 63% of its ownership to Louis Roederer due to some failed investments in New Zealand and the United States. Over time, the House Deutz expanded with the acquisition of new crus, both around Ay and in the Cote des Blancs, and annually produces about 600,000 bottles of excellent Champagne. However, the vineyards they own are not enough to supply the necessary quantity of grapes, so Deutz turns to local growers with proven expertise to ensure impeccable quality of their product. With the advent of Louis Roederer, the winery has been completely renovated and modernized: the musts ferment in steel barrels, each of which is carefully labeled with the parcel from which the grapes come. Afterwards, the wines are rested in the completely underground cellar, which reaches up to 60 meters below ground level. The production process of all the champagnes of the House is carried out under the control and responsibility of Fabrice Rosset.
