The absolute protagonist is Chardonnay, accompanied by other varieties, vinified in a single day and fermented in barrique with batonnage for 3 months, followed by 10 months in French oak and further aging in the bottle. The result is an elegant, structured white wine with great complexity, featuring notes of tropical fruit, white flowers, and a fine minerality. THE COMPANY
Elena Walch is a prominent family-run winery in Alto Adige, a jewel of Italian wine production and renowned internationally.
A promoter of quality and innovation, Elena Walch has helped to lead the qualitative revolution in Alto Adige, earning great local and international respect. An architect by profession, Elena Walch married the heir of one of the region's oldest winemaking families, bringing with her new concepts for modernizing the traditional company. Today, the management is entrusted to her daughters Julia and Karoline Walch, the fifth generation of the family.
The company's philosophy is closely tied to its terroir: the principle is that wines should be a unique expression of their soil, climate, and vineyard work, and that the vineyard should be worked according to sustainability principles and thus passed down to future generations. The deep belief that wine quality is born in the vineyard brings with it the desire to work without compromise, respecting the individual characteristics of each vineyard. With 60 hectares under cultivation, including the standout vineyards VIGNA Castel Ringberg in Caldaro and VIGNA Kastelaz in Tramin, Elena Walch is among the most important wine personalities in Alto Adige.
