The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'Dominè' from Pievalta evokes memories of an old emporium in the area where people used to stop to enjoy a glass of Verdicchio. It is a wine linked to research, experimentation, and the curiosity to always discover something new about this great grape variety. Straw yellow in color, it has aromas of peach, almond, and grapefruit. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, and finishes with a persistent mineral sensation. It is an organic wine, and only substances of natural origin are used in the vineyard. Additionally, biodiversity is encouraged to allow balance between all forms of life, both plant and animal.

THE WINE
The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'Dominè' by Pievalta brings to mind an old emporium in the area where people used to stop to taste a glass of Verdicchio. It is a wine linked to research, experimentation, and the curiosity to discover something new about this great grape variety. Straw yellow in color, it has aromas of peach, almond, and grapefruit. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, and finishes with a persistent mineral sensation. It is an organic wine, where only natural substances are used in the vineyard. Furthermore, biodiversity is encouraged to allow the balance between every form of life, both plant and animal.
THE COMPANY

Pievalta is a young and modern winery in the Castelli di Jesi area, which has quickly become a virtuous model of biodynamic viticulture in the Marche region. It was founded in Maiolati Spontini in 2002 by Barone Pizzini, a renowned production entity in Franciacorta, with the aim of enhancing and expressing one of the most important native grape varieties in Italy: Verdicchio.
The management of Pievalta has been entrusted to the young Milanese winemaker Alessandro Fenino, who has shaped the winery according to his own sensitivity. The decision to transition from organic to biodynamic viticulture dates back to 2005 and stems, as Alessandro explains, from the desire to encourage the expressive harmony of the place, allowing it to express itself freely without tricks and interventions: “biodynamic viticulture means bringing life into the vineyard, helping it to reactivate the forces that connect it to the sky and the earth.”
The vineyards of Pievalta extend over 21.5 hectares in Maiolati Spontini and 5 hectares in San Paolo di Jesi, one of the most suitable terroirs of the Castelli di Jesi. The management of the vineyards involves nourishing the plants through green manures of legumes, replanting, cow horn manure, and biodynamic preparations, short pruning, and very low amounts of mined sulfur. No plant-based additives are used in the production process, and the wines produced also have vegan vegetarian quality certification. These are expressive, clean, dynamic, and territorial wines: the biodynamic expression of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
