Alto Adige DOC Chardonnay 'Since 83' 2023 (750 ml.) Colterenzio
The 'Since 83' from Colterenzio is a pure Chardonnay that comes from selected vineyards at altitudes between 380 and 470 m s.l.m., located on sandy and gravelly morainic soils. After gentle pressing, most of the must ferments in large wooden barrels, while a smaller portion ferments in tonneaux barrels. It is followed by about 7 months of aging on the fine lees and a bottle maturation of about 1 month. It is a white wine with a bouquet of intense notes of yellow peach, yellow plum, ripe citrus, and exotic fruit, along with fine notes of hazelnut and vanilla. The overall profile is complemented by fine notes of hazelnut and vanilla, balanced by a round and soft acidity. It is ideal to accompany flavorful first courses and second courses based on fish and white meat.

THE WINE

THE COMPANY
Archduke Sigismund, residing at Castel Firmiano in the 15th century, was not the first to appreciate the good wine of Colterenzio. In fact, as early as around 15 B.C., the Roman colonist Cornelius recognized the extraordinary fertility of this land and decided to settle here, thus laying the foundations for the current wine-growing vocation of Colterenzio. His estate "Cornelianum," which gave its name to the village of Cornaiano, stood on a hill not far away. The ancient tradition was renewed in 1960 when 28 winegrowers founded the Colterenzio Winery. Over the years, others joined them, and today Colterenzio has nearly 300 passionate winegrower members who contribute grapes from approximately 300 hectares of vineyards they own.
