The Malvasia 'Petris' from Venica is an intense and fresh wine produced in the Collio region of Friuli, on the border with Slovenia. It represents the great tradition of white wines from the area. The mild and breezy climate and the soils create a perfect habitat for Malvasia Istriana. This ancient grape variety of Greek origin, with a delicately aromatic, elegant, and savory profile, yields a white wine that is partly vinified in steel and partly in wood, to express floral aromas, rich fruit, and mineral notes typical of the Gorizia terroir. The bouquet features scents of wildflowers and aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, fruity aromas of peach, apricot, and slight tropical hints. Warm, rich, and persistent, with a refreshing finish that ends on savory notes.

THE WINE
The Malvasia 'Petris' from Venica is an intense and fresh wine produced in the Collio Friulano region, on the border with Slovenia. It represents the great tradition of white wines from the area. THE COMPANY

A story that began just under a century ago, precisely on February 6, 1930, the day Daniele Venica purchased what is today the central core of the Venica & Venica company, consisting of the farmstead and the surrounding vineyards. Now, in the spirit of constant and harmonious generational change, it is Gianni, Giorgio, and Giampaolo Venica who continue to nurture the deep passion and relentless love for wine, vineyards, and their work. In total, there are just under forty hectares of vineyards owned by the company, situated on some of the best hills of Dolegna, and managed following ecological agricultural practices with low environmental impact. Among the rows of vines, the plants are cared for almost meticulously, and in full respect of nature, biodiversity, and the ecosystem, they grow on soils consisting of eoceanic sandy marls. In the winery, method and rigor, then modernity and innovations, join the most deeply rooted traditions, giving rise to extremely well-crafted wines with a distinctive personality, capable of shining in both single-varietal and blended vinifications. Constantly following every production step, they never forget one of the fundamental principles of the company, aimed at enhancing and valuing everything that the season and the territory have been able to express in the fruit. This is how bottles are born that meet the highest quality standards, capable of telling the best of Friuli when it comes to wine. Labels that bear the name “Venica,” have been an undisputed reference point for the Collio denomination for years, where the varied range of wines from Venica & Venica stands out for excellence and prestige, and above all is able to satisfy and conquer even the most refined and demanding palates. Wines that together form a true enological mosaic, aromatic, profound, and valuable, as well as convincing, elegant, and refined.
