THE WINE
The Soave Classico 'La Rocca' by Pieropan is simply a stunning white wine. Produced by one of the most esteemed winemakers in the Soave denomination, it has a history that dates back to 1890. An elegant and precious white wine with a unique complexity. A graceful floral and gently fruity bouquet, soft and enveloping, fresh and mineral.
The Pieropan family works with care and dedication, selecting the best grapes, creating wines that stand out for their ability to reflect the identity of the terroir from which they come, which can express its full potential only thanks to the skilled work of man. One of the highest expressions of garganega is that of Soave Classico La Rocca, produced with grapes from a particular and exclusive cru near the ancient Scaligero castle of Soave, is what we would define as the prototype of the denomination, of which every enthusiast should have a few bottles in their cellar. The hill of Monte Rocchetta enjoys a particularly favorable microclimate that allows for the production of wines with rare organoleptic characteristics.
An elegant and precious white wine that eloquently tells a unique complexity. A graceful floral and gently fruity bouquet presents to the nose this luminous sublime example of garganega, which never fails to amaze with precious spicy nuances. On tasting, it captivates the eye with bright golden glimmers and the palate with noble velvety sensations. With enveloping sips like cashmere, it offers an intense moment of pleasure with a vibrant flavor and an endless finish. A great soave.
THE COMPANY
The Pieropan winery deserves credit for introducing the world to Soave and its land as synonymous with great wines. In fact, it is from the exaggerated attention and selection of the best grapes that all the wines of the Pieropan winery are born: assisted by his inseparable Teresita, Leonildo Pieropan has demonstrated in difficult years how it was possible, thanks to work and respect for the vineyard, to achieve results considered unattainable. The produced wines are distinguished by their style and are authentic expressions of the territory and the people who lovingly and dedicatedly produce them. The Soave lands, strictly hilly with very old vines, mostly trained in pergola, give great importance to the Pieropan winery.
The privileged position of the vines and the unconditional love with which Leonildo cares for them make the wines of Pieropan essential and unique for the concreteness of their style.
It is not easy to maintain such a profile over the decades, but anyone who has had the fortune to taste a Soave from Pieropan that is over twenty years old knows the evolutionary possibilities of the wines from this territory, which in the bottles of this winery find one of their highest expressions. The same meticulous care is also found in the young red wines of Valpolicella (Ruberpan and Amarone), a new project that has enriched the Pieropan winery.
