THE COMPANY
A true synonym of excellence, Alois Lageder over the years has demonstrated the best that Alto Adige can express in terms of personality, elegance, and territorial adherence. A result born from a clear vision of their work, where every activity is closely linked to the others in a virtuous circle that has been completed with the conversion to biodynamics of the proprietary vineyards.
Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: "quality is always the result of many details, sometimes even minimal - recalls Alois Lageder - and in all stages of processing, we first seek to find harmony among all the factors involved, working in harmony with nature." It is no coincidence that each wine manages, like few others in the region, to tell the ever-changing characteristics of its vineyard of origin - Alto Adige is indeed a land extremely rich in the variety of soils, microclimatic zones, and exposures, offering ideal conditions for producing wines with marked individuality. The grapes harvested in the family-owned vineyards, about 50 hectares between Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno, and the area of Lake Caldaro, are cultivated with organic and biodynamic methods certified by Demeter. Not only that, besides managing the proprietary vineyards, the company collaborates with a number of trusted winegrowers from different areas of Alto Adige, vineyards that collectively extend for another 110 hectares, about a quarter of which are cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
It is from this extraordinary context that wines are born, true ambassadors of the territory, charming whites and reds that make up an assortment composed of three quality levels: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, the Masi.
