The 'Löwengang' by Alois Lageder is a pure Chardonnay from Alto Adige, from organic and biodynamic viticulture, originating from the best plots of the Tenuta Löwengang in Magrè. In the '80s, it was the first South Tyrolean white wine to establish itself in international markets. It is spontaneously fermented in French oak barrels and left to rest for just under a year on the fine lees, offering an extremely balanced sip, where the freshness of the fruit perfectly harmonizes with the delicate tones imparted by the passage in wood. It is a textbook Chardonnay, a true masterpiece.

THE WINE
The 'Löwengang' by Alois Lageder is a pure Chardonnay from Alto Adige, produced through organic and biodynamic viticulture, originating from the best plots of the Tenuta Löwengang in Magrè. In the 1980s, it was the first white wine from Alto Adige to establish itself in international markets. It is spontaneously fermented in French oak barriques and rests for just under a year on fine lees, offering an extremely balanced sip, where the freshness of the fruit perfectly harmonizes with the delicate tones imparted by the wood aging. It's a textbook Chardonnay, a true masterpiece.
THE COMPANY

A true synonym of excellence, Alois Lageder has demonstrated over the years the best that Alto Adige can express in terms of personality, elegance, and adherence to the territory. This result is the offspring of a clear vision of their work, where each activity is closely linked to the others in a virtuous circle that culminated in the conversion of the proprietary vineyards to biodynamics.
Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: “quality is always the result of many details, sometimes even minimal ones," recalls Alois Lageder, “and in all stages of processing, we first try to find harmony among all the factors involved, working in tune with nature.” It is no coincidence that each wine, like few others in the region, can tell the always diverse characteristics of its vineyard of origin - Alto Adige is indeed a land extremely rich in the variety of soils, microclimatic zones, and exposures, offering ideal conditions for producing wines with pronounced individuality. The grapes harvested in the family-owned vineyards, around 50 hectares between Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno, and the area of Lake Caldaro, are cultivated using certified organic and biodynamic methods by Demeter. Moreover, in addition to managing the proprietary vineyards, the company collaborates with a number of trusted growers from different areas of Alto Adige, with vineyards extending overall to another 110 hectares, about a quarter of which is cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
From this extraordinary context arise wines that are true ambassadors of the territory, captivating whites and reds that form an assortment composed of three quality levels: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, and the Masi.
