The 'Löwengang' by Alois Lageder is a pure Chardonnay from South Tyrol, made from organic and biodynamic viticulture, coming from the best plots of the Tenuta Löwengang in Magrè. In the 1980s, it was the first South Tyrolean white wine to establish itself in international markets. Left to ferment spontaneously in French oak barriques and aged for just under a year on fine lees, it offers an extremely balanced sip, where the freshness of the fruit perfectly harmonizes with the delicate tones imparted by the wood aging. It is a textbook Chardonnay, a true masterpiece.

THE COMPANY
A true synonym of excellence, Alois Lageder has demonstrated over the years the best that South Tyrol can express in terms of personality, elegance, and territorial adherence. This is a result of a clear vision of its work, where every activity is closely linked to others in a virtuous circle that has found fulfillment in the biodynamic conversion of the owned vineyards.
Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: “quality is always the result of many details, sometimes even minimal - recalls Alois Lageder - and in all phases of processing we first seek to find harmony between all the factors involved, working in tune with nature.” It is no coincidence that each wine manages, like few others in the region, to tell the always different characteristics of its vineyard of origin - South Tyrol is indeed a land extremely rich in soil variety, microclimatic zones, and exposures, which therefore offers ideal conditions for producing wines with a strong individuality. The grapes harvested from the family-owned vineyards, about 50 hectares between Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno, and the area of Lake Caldaro, are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods certified by Demeter. Moreover, in addition to managing the owned vineyards, the company collaborates with a number of trusted winemakers from various areas of South Tyrol, whose vineyards collectively extend over another 110 hectares, about a quarter of which is cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics.
It is from this extraordinary context that wines arise, which are true ambassadors of the territory, both white and red, that compose an assortment consisting of three quality levels: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, and the Masi.
