Located in a region rich in history and winemaking traditions, Ottella stands out for its dedication to enhancing the territory, especially through the expression of the DOC Lugana denomination. Here, among the vineyards that stretch along the shores of the lake, Turbiana finds its ideal home, giving life to wines that highlight its elegance and typicality.
The philosophy of Ottella combines a modern approach with a deep respect for tradition and the territory. The winery works with passion and artisanal care, pursuing the goal of producing wines that are authentic representatives of the land from which they come. The Turbiana and Corvina grapes, grown with attention and respect for the environment, are the protagonists of this enological story that unfolds in every bottle.

THE WINE
The sparkling 'Blanc de Blancs' by Ottella comes from the morainic hills of Alto Mincio, in the province of Verona. Pure Chardonnay grapes harvested with manual selection, placed in small crates: Non-vintage Cuvée. Aging on the lees for a minimum of 1 year. Produced using the “solouva” method. Sugar content lower than 4.0 g/L. Straw-yellow color. It is intense on the nose and reveals fruity and citrus aromas that blend with hints of bread crust and pastry. On the palate, it is fresh, delicate, and assertive, with a balanced acidic and savory support. An excellent aperitif, it pairs well with aged cheeses and important fish-based dishes.
THE COMPANY

The winery Ottella has its roots in a land blessed with a particular winemaking aptitude, both for reds and whites. With one foot in Valpolicella and the other in the land of Garda, Ottella creates a series of labels that aim to faithfully express the territory. Lodovico, Francesco, and Michele Montresor have strongly believed in this land and decided to adopt it as the optimal substrate to nurture their dream: to create unique, “noble” wines that can be recognized by a precise signature. They are as creative as they are firmly attached to the expressiveness of the terroir, which is enhanced in its soil-vine relationship.
The absolute protagonist of the field and the winery is Trebbiano di Lugana, an indigenous grape variety that enriches the vineyard-covered areas near Lake Garda. Locally, this variety is known as “Turbiana” and has been the subject of numerous genetic studies by agricultural university entities. Initially considered related to Verdicchio, today it is linked to other Trebbiani. It is a grape variety with strong vigor, and therefore, the training system is mainly directed towards low-expansion types, favoring a double arch planting system. The Lugana area has a glacial origin: the melting of glaciers has caused the accumulation of debris that created the morainic hills arranged in an amphitheater to protect the Lugana basin. It consists of layers of clay and limestone, distributed unevenly in the soil. This allows for different nuances in the same area, which are reflected in the wine through distinctive traits.
The winery Ottella cultivates both white and red grape varieties, producing a high number of labels. Among the reds, the Venetian expressions of Amarone and Valpolicella stand out, while the Trebbiano di Lugana reigns among the whites. The mineral savoriness, aromatic finesse, and vibrant freshness define the imprint of Ottella wines, which tell the story of the soul and essence of a grape variety and a territory.
