The fortune of these areas lies, of course, in a combination of geological and climatic factors.

The production area of Valdobbiadene-Conegliano cultivates vines on approximately 3600 hectares of land at an altitude ranging from 50 to 500 meters. s.l.m. and produces an average of 400 thousand quintals of grapes annually. In the heart of these hills, specifically in the territory of S. Pietro di Barbozza, there is a microzone of 106 hectares selected from which the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze is produced.

The multiple chemical-physical peculiarities of the soils, the exposures, the slopes, the altitudes, and the microclimates determine the differences that characterize the Proseccos grown in these hilly areas formed by parallel chains that extend in an East-West direction, embraced by the Piave River to the west, the Meschio, and the Crevada stream to the east.
The area is also divided into two districts by the Soligo River: the western one called the Mandamento of Valdobbiadene (which includes the hills of Valdobbiadene, Combai, Miane, Farra di Soligo, Soligo, Col S. Martino, and Vidor) and the Mandamento of Conegliano (which includes the slopes of Conegliano, Carpesica, Ogliano, Feletto, Refrontolo, Susegana, Solighetto, and Pieve di Soligo).

These parallel ridges of hills are made up of soils of different geological origins. There are three eras of formation: the secondary era (Lower Cretaceous, Middle Cretaceous, Upper Cretaceous), the tertiary era (Miocene, Pliocene, Pontian), and the quaternary era.
The hills of Conegliano (S. Pietro di Feletto and Susegana) were formed as a result of alluvial phenomena that began in the Miocene and continued until the glacial period; they are generally heavy soils, partially iron-rich, of a dark red color.

The area of Vittorio Veneto (Carpesica, Scomigo, Ogliano, and Colle Umberto) is characterized by permeable, deep soils with abundant skeletal material, and has a morainic origin from quaternary formation.
The slopes that extend from Serravalle westward towards Cison di Valmarino, up to S. Pietro di Barbozza, are made up of clayey limestones, marls, sandstones, and Miocene soft rocks. These are the soils with the most renowned physical and chemical characteristics for the production of prosecco.

Finally, the hills that descend from Valdobbiadene towards Vidor are very different from each other as they consist of an alternating mix of moraine deposits, alluvial terraces, and alluvial fans.

The land of Valdobbiadene-Conegliano therefore represents a unique meeting point between history and different geological phenomena, whose blending, combined with an important thermal excursion generated by the nearby mountains, has given us a soil capable of producing the scents, aromas, and harmonies typical of our beloved Prosecco.

The geographical heart of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg is located between the two municipalities of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. Here we find a landscape of rare beauty, with gentle hills adorned by irregular vineyards that follow their contours.

The glaciers that descended in primordial times from the Dolomites, carving a passage that later became the bed of the Piave River, are at the origin of the current physical configuration of the territory: as a result, the land has absorbed precious elements from the erosive process, which we find today in the vines.

The good balance of the soil's chemical-physical components and the particular microclimate, characterized by large temperature fluctuations and constant humidity, contribute to defining the fruits of the vineyards in this territory for their phenolic components and especially for their aromatic complexity.
